My boss is 13 years older than his dad's wife.

My boss's kids are around 20 years older than their uncle.

And they're all super healthy and happy and loving and relatively normal for multi-millionaires.

My daughter is 24 and it would be incredibly weird if she were dating BB... but probably better than the last two guys her age she dated.

I also am good at math. But I am bad at being unsurprised at how judgemental people can be.

I mean we all know why she is actually dating him and why he is dating her.

If I had a 24 year old daughter I think I’d rather her try to find a man for the right reasons: love, building a family etc, even if she swings and misses along the way. I would hate the idea of a skeevy 72 year old man dating (banging) my hypothetical daughter for financial purposes.

Seems like the guy is becoming a bit out of touch.

If we are talking about it from a completely practical perspective there is no way this is anything close to immoral. I just find it kind of funny. But anyone talking about power imbalances and maturity gaps as for this being wrong on some way does need to take a step back. She is 24.

Even if she doesn't know 100% of the implications what she is doing, the power imbalance she signed up for or how the vast gulf in life experience between them may put her at a personal disadvantages....that isn't on Bill. That is on her. Completely totally on her with no excuses. I know we've allowed society to infantile people at older and older ages as we've advanced, but sorry at 24 you are out of excuses for any of your actions. Doesn't mean you can't ask for help of older more experienced people of course, but that is on you to do. No more training wheels.

Interesting perspective. But it might help to consider that the human brain is not fully developed until age 25. And as you suggest, social media has blunted young people's real-world experience delaying maturity. I'd say she's at a decided disadvantage unless gifted with an unusually high IQ. The real question is if/how she benefits from this affair financially, that's key. I'm curious about her parents, perhaps she didn't have a father growing up?

I wonder more about BB's apparent lack of wisdom. Maybe the team's downward trajectory was harder on him than we thought. Worst case scenario: both are stupid enough to believe it's true love. Best case: both understand it's transactional and temporary.
