The emergency #3 QB can now be an elevation from the Practice Squad. A #3 QB plays only if both other active QB's are injured. This player does count as one of the limit of two elevations from the Practice Squad. There are no limits on the use of the #3 QB, so many teams could have their emergency QB on the Practice Squad all year and replace him if someone chose to sign him. This player wouldn't count against the 53-man limit on the roster.
