Mac led the entire NFL in turnovers as a starter, Brissett turns the ball over less than anyone… you don’t understand how football works if you believe your statement above.
he had 24 pass attempts last season, so who is to know?

It's not a tough one, in 2021 he had a great team around him and after 13 weeks he still fell apart. In the final five games of 2021 he had seven interceptions and fumbled it twice losing one... that's eight turnovers in five games... it's eight turnovers in four games when you take away the one victory over that final five game stretch against the team with the worst overall record in the NFL that season Jaguars.

In year two, he played three games before getting hurt... he led the entire NFL in interceptions when he went down. He sucked after week 13 as a rookie, fans just saw what they wanted to see instead of what was actually happening.

After points... turnovers are the most important stat in football, because they most correlate to points. Brissett isn't amazing, but he doesn't turn the ball over, for that reason along with a host of other character reasons he is the perfect bridge guy to mentor the rookie QB's and he could win games if the team around him is great. Jared Goff isn't any different than the QB we saw on the Rams, the Lions are just a better team.

As far as this year goes, if the collaboration station can fix the left side of the offensive line in Strange's absence, if the coaches do even a halfway decent job and the remainder of the team stays healthy this should be a 8-10 win team minimum. Just having all the coaches and owners on the same page is huge.
I thought he ended that season on a high note
he had a rating of 128 against the Jags
he had a rating of 91 against the Phins
the playoff game the team was embarrassed against the Bills, but Mac went 24 for 38 for 261 and 2 TD's
things were looking up for the QB position when the season ended.
then Bills ego got in the way year 2.

As much as I disliked Hobbs, he had perfect coverage on Wayne when the refs decided to call the made up “face guarding” penalty. The Colts and the crowd looked dead to rights before that call was made.

Asante was really good at jumping routes, but his major weaknesses was man coverage. He’d get bullied by the better WR’s.
Yes! And then Hobbs had said in the 07 off season that the NFL rescinded the call and apologized to him. Meanwhile our HOF WR moss couldn't get the same call when he was trippled team on the deep pass in the superbowl.

Yes assante was a good off coverage CB however the all the great CBs are man coverage players. Your never going to win playing zone it's just to easy for the QB and WR to make plays on you. It was a gamble that Flores made playing zone in the last super, but we had the horses up front and in secondary.

Or what about the entire DL getting choked by the Giants OL before that play I won't name? Shaun O'Hara admitted he held and would've rather have a flag thrown than let Manning get sacked on that play.

Yes!!! I remember that. He even had the gull to say it on air when he was at NFL network. That play by tyree would it be a catch in 2024??..

Brissett as a starter:

926-1511 attempts, 61% completions, 9994 Yards, 208 YPG, 48 TD's, 22 INT's, 85.2 QB Rating, 6.61 YPA, 190 rushes, 853 YDs, 4.5 YPA, 12 rush TDs.

We know…

The only thing we don’t know is what he looks like on a good/great roster.

Are you high?

Mac went 1-4 after the bye week, threw 7 interceptions and lost a fumble… 8 turnovers in five games while completing about 59% of his passes at 6.8 yards per clip.

His one turnover free game, his lone win came against the Jags… the team with the worst record in the NFL that season. Urban Meyers abominably bad defense was ranked 28th in points and yards allowed and dead last in forced turnovers. Laughable…

Your penchant for trying to polish a turd into a diamond is horribly misguided. As with most things you’d rather blame BB for “ruining Mac” than admit Mac sucked and Bill probably didn’t want him to begin with.

thats fine
but to think the teams offense is now going to be acceptable with Brissett as QB, in my opinion, is misplaced
No, it isn't enough to improve at QB, bring back your top RB and IE from injury and add 3 WR's. To some, we are still a 4 win team.

Jacoby is 18-30 in 48 starts
he is not an overly accurate passer and his TD-INT ratio is 2-1.
he has started 16 games over the past 4 years
maybe he comes in and is great in this new offense.
but I hope Maye is ready much sooner than later, as Jacoby most likely reverts to norm

I agree the WR group is far improved
Stevenson returning from injury will be huge if he can stay healthy all season. I am not yet ready to say Gibson is or will be better than what Zeke gave last season
where we split is the QB situation. I need to see more before saying Jacoby is an upgrade

The difference is Mac was on a great team in 2021, Brissett has never started for even a good team. Mac was the biggest reason his teams lost, not the same with Brissett.

His TD to INT ratio is slightly better than 2/1, he also runs the ball well and is a big body down near the goal rushing for 12 TD’s and averaging 4.5 yards per carry.

He’s a big upgrade, you’re downplaying how detrimental turnovers are to winning.

I've said myself, Mac just didn't trust what he was seeing on the field or trusted what he was being coached. In summary he couldn't be himself. Was he overdrafted? Probably. I'm just happy he has a fresh start down in JAX.. I'm fully embracing Drake!

Gibson is a far better upgrade at RB. I can't speak enough on Gibson. 6'2, blocks, makes LBs, safeties miss with one cut, lines up at WR and runs WR routes. Guys a phenomenal athlete. Compared to the QB position last season Brissett is an upgrade as a back up.

even if Brissett is equal to Zappe (really?), the Offense is still much improved.

Please explain what you mean by ego got in the way?

Agree completely if he protects the ball, he can’t fumble.

Brissett is better than any starter they had last year, nevermind backup.

Maye and Milton are complete unknowns but hope resides in that unknown. The unkown of new rookies is better than the known of Mac.

This is why fans were chanting for Zappe in 2022, they were already done with Mac and so was Bill according to reports. They kept the best QB from last year, and even Zappe may be gone soon… but they did a good job this off-season stocking the shelves at QB.

Yes. Absolutely. Maye is the future and who knows just may end up being the starter. I just feel like we are upgrade all around offensively. The feel even though with a rookie is promising.
