And we are still missing our best two defenders, 2 of 3 top wr’s, top running back, and 1/2 out o line. It took all that happening last year to get us to where we ended up.
Absolutely correct. I actually am embracing the hate. The team will use this all season for motivation. This defense is disrespected big time. They are built like the early 2000s patriots defenses.. think of this for a minute. Gibson, 6'2 runs WR routes, can catch out the back field makes guys miss. He's a mismatch and a weapon for us.

People keep thinking Zapp is the starting QB. That 4-13 team has been overhauled offensively.
Brissett is not much of an upgrade over Mac
Zippy is not an NFL QB

Rather see him than anything we had to call a QB last season.
thats fine
but to think the teams offense is now going to be acceptable with Brissett as QB, in my opinion, is misplaced

I don't believe it's misplaced at all. You have to remember although the skill positions maybe were not premier weapons however better QB play would have us at least an 8 win team last season. QB was 90% of the problem. Brissett is here to mentor Drake, be steady at the position if needed, he's not the savior but he's a better option than Bailey Jones. Russell Wilson was 24-8 last season. We hadn't had production like that from the position since 2019.

you keep telling me this is not the same offense as last season, but then tell me last seasons offense was an 8 win team with better QB play.
which is it?
for me, the coaching is far better, but still new and needing to get their system in place. Brissett will definitely help with that.
the RB room for me is a wash. I thought Zeke was very good last season. I thought Mondre under performed until injury. I am not yet sure what to expect from Gibson. I like the possibilities but need to see more of him.
the WR room is for sure upgraded. but again, rookies (2) and 2nd year players with new QB's make it hard to see giant improvements.
the OL is a work in progress. hopefully healthier, younger and deeper.
for me, this looks like 5 wins with Maye coming on once the team is elimianted

U just answered your own question. How may wins did we have last season? I'll tell you 4! With adequate QB play we'd have at least 8 wins. I'm giving credence to the skills positions and that we had guys out. No the RB room has been upgraded by the addition of Gibson. All you have to do is look at his game last season against us he was a problem he's a match up night mare.

Gibson is a 6"2 back who can do it all. Block, catch out the backfield, run WR routes being former WR. Not enough is said about him being added. The QB position has been upgraded addition by subtraction. You draft maye and he's your future. Brissett is here as I've said to mentor Drake. IMO I don't believe he will be starting I believe it's maye. So I agree with you on your overall concerns but I just don't see a 5 win team here especially with a stacked defense

Wow. I was in middle school myself 6th.. I believe it first aired in 1990.
I was in my 40's with a wife and two children and we never watched that show.

I'd pay him 15m a year, no question asked... Reward the most vocal Patriot player... He's stumps for this team like no one in recent memory has... Besides, ain't my money, and Kraft has more than enough to go around
Isn't it our money that Kraft is spending?

One of the funniest shows ever! That show gave us Jim Carey, Jaime Foxx and J lo. Tommy Davidson.. so many talented people.

Probably. Aside from the season ender last year, you look at his sack total and it’s right up there with the best of them at 15.5. If you can keep that type of production for 2 or 3 years you do what you can to keep it.

Besides a trade for Wirfs there’s no other option I see where they get the value for the player. He’s awesone when healthy and a team leader. Super heavy draft next year at DE. If they get the LT situated before seasons end you go ahead and drat one and let him be groomed by one of the best in the league.
On the wirfs Trade yeah sounds good. He's a great player. I believe the teams in wait n see mode on the linemen. We are pretty deep up front and camp will tell us alot. But Yes absolutely agree on man damm...

What Mac are we talking about? Brissett is way better than the Mac we saw last year. Mac's rookie year was better than Brissett. So I would say both can be true. Brissett will be better than the QB play we had last year and Mac still has a chance to be better (probably in a few years if he can shake things off and gets another chance).

Agreed here. Mac's in a better situation. He has no pressure on him. He's in a comfortable work environment with Pedersen who's know to be patient with his players. Brissett I like since we signed him. Gibson was raving about Brissette and his leadership as well.

Mac led the entire NFL in turnovers as a starter, Brissett turns the ball over less than anyone… you don’t understand how football works if you believe your statement above.

This is a Tough one, if Mac played not to lose vs playing to win how many less turnovers would he have had?

I think it’s a combination of mediocre coaching, jag skill players, mediocre o line, and a less than a jag QB.

I knew he 100 percent wasn’t the answer when I saw him in person vs Buff in foxoboro 3 years ago.

Warm ups he was throwing lobs and Hoyer was darting passes in there on the sideline.
I went wait a minute omg to see that weak arm live was sobering.
Then watching Allen warm up I could hear the ball whistle.

That being said the game like Josh Allen was in a video game playing against easy,
He easily sidestepped and broke out of sacks made plays on his feet and had too much arm strength and zip that he made the smallest of windows look easy to hit.

I don’t think I was ever so discouraged by the Patriots cause I knew with Mac we could never compete for a championship and I felt like we were stuck in mediocrity.

Don’t get me wrong the few times Mac made plays in clutch situations I was happy for the kid and even said he’s showing the toughness we want to see at QB.

But I can’t remember which beat writer said it but he said everything Mac does he makes look difficult and everthing Allen does comes easy.

Mac forced turnovers and panicked in situations cause he didn’t have the god given elite talent to be a NFL QB who can make the best of a bad situation hence the play in the Raiders game.

Not allowing him to throw in the strong winds in Buff and not allowing him to attempt a hail Mary against the Raiders did two things.

Confirmed how I believed Bill felt about him and destroyed the little bit of confidence and trust Mac had that he was a Franchise QB for the Pats.

All that to say Brissett is leaps and bounds better than Mac.
Hell I know we would of one more with Hoyer or Stidham than him.

It's not a tough one, in 2021 he had a great team around him and after 13 weeks he still fell apart. In the final five games of 2021 he had seven interceptions and fumbled it twice losing one... that's eight turnovers in five games... it's eight turnovers in four games when you take away the one victory over that final five game stretch against the team with the worst overall record in the NFL that season Jaguars.

In year two, he played three games before getting hurt... he led the entire NFL in interceptions when he went down. He sucked after week 13 as a rookie, fans just saw what they wanted to see instead of what was actually happening.

After points... turnovers are the most important stat in football, because they most correlate to points. Brissett isn't amazing, but he doesn't turn the ball over, for that reason along with a host of other character reasons he is the perfect bridge guy to mentor the rookie QB's and he could win games if the team around him is great. Jared Goff isn't any different than the QB we saw on the Rams, the Lions are just a better team.

As far as this year goes, if the collaboration station can fix the left side of the offensive line in Strange's absence, if the coaches do even a halfway decent job and the remainder of the team stays healthy this should be a 8-10 win team minimum. Just having all the coaches and owners on the same page is huge.

Absolutely correct. Assante was a zone corner couldn't play man. Hobbs played played hard and eas undersized. I've always said not keeping ty in his still prime years haunted us for years. Chad brown, don Davis, junior all were older players at MLB.. wasn't until we drafted mayo and spikes that we started to shore up the position. Great points!
As much as I disliked Hobbs, he had perfect coverage on Wayne when the refs decided to call the made up “face guarding” penalty. The Colts and the crowd looked dead to rights before that call was made.

Asante was really good at jumping routes, but his major weaknesses was man coverage. He’d get bullied by the better WR’s.
