Anyone see this garbage about the Drake?

These guys are literally latching onto Mayo saying "He's got a lot to work on" and extrapolating that comment into meaning "they hate him, they regret drafting him, they wish they took someone else, he's the wrong guy, he sucks". I guess they missed the fact that everyone in the draft process across all franchises knew he needed work. Mayo is saying what we all already knew. Maybe Plaxico didn't get scouting reports in prison?

1. Plax wasn't smart enough to carry in a pocket holster, so everything he says I take with a dump truck load of salt.
2. Not that it means anything, but my youtube "recommended" feed this morning had a post about Drake being elite, immediately followed by one that called him a bust. My point is that no one in the media knows what he is going to be, one way or the other. "They hate him" is on brand for media types, because it garners clicks from fanboys and haters alike.

As far as Mayo saying "he has a lot to work on", that's pretty bland coach speak. He does have a lot to work on. He's going to be an NFL QB, he had a week's worth of practice with rookies, and he's 21 years old. Even if he's Tom Brady 2.0, he has a lot to work on. Tom Brady could walk in that door today and he'd have a lot to work on.

Truth is, Maye might end up not working out. But, you can't chalk it up to lesser conference competition, low collegiate stats, etc...
Mac came from the best team in NCAAF, a championship, and great stats for 1 year. But, he didn't have the raw physical traits, and most importantly he lacked the mental fortitude to overcome in the NFL.
Brady didn't play a lot in college, underwhelming stats, AND no obvious physical traits. But he had better mental makeup than any QB in history, and that is what turned his physical game into good enough.
We'll see what Maye's mental strength is soon. Sitting most of this year is wise, like Mahomes.
Let Maye play the last 3-4 games once we're out of contention with no pressure.

I think the one thing Plax points to is a slow release, which I’m sure they are working on that and learning about the kind of Kid Drake is he will improve on that greatly and quickly.

Bingo. There's no rookie in the history of the league that didn't have a lot to work on coming into the league, and Mayo wants to set the expectation for Drake that if he wants to be the guy, he's got to prove it first. As all rookies should.

I loved Ellis Hobbs til we put him on an island against Plax.
Plus he was injured playing in that game. That defensive play call will forever be stuck with me I remember yelling at the tv before the snap like move the safety over

We were sitting in that corner I'm a fat guy and I still had this urge before the snap to run on the field and help Hobbs. It was so obvious we had a mismatch.

There's a story about Bru wanting to change the call and telling Seau to change it but Seau stuck with the call. Could be the other way around.

Omg imagine if they audible out of that play.
A blind man could have saw that missmatch.
That was the dagger.
