3 needs, all filled, and the whining continues

Our impact talent was QB. Maye will start next year, completing the rebuild at QB, with a new #1 and #2.

Our WR corps was completely revamped, bringing in Osborn, Polk and Baker. The main thing missing is a high level #1. That could happen at any time, but next off-season makes more sense. We will add one or two WR's. We will do the complete overhaul in 2 seasons.

Our OL is in the midst of a 3 year rebuild. Sow and Andrews are keepers from last year. Hopefully, we added two more this year (3 if we re-up Okorafor. We'll complete the rebuild in the next draft. Impact talent is a matter of definition.

The BOTTOM LINE is that almost a complete rebuild of the Offense will be completed by next year, when we will acquire a top level WR and LT.

We will have signed talent that will greatly impact the team. I'm not sure that thre is more to do on Offense, other than sign a RB or two.

We do need to focus on extending our top talent on Defense, and replacing the talent that leaves. That will be the major next step. I would hope that we sign a safety, at least for camp competition. I expect that next year that there will be of a draft focus on Defense, although we may still need a couple of OL's.

BOTTOM LINE
IMO, we will have a 2 year rebuild. No, we are nowhere near being done. Major steps include a top WR and solidifying the OL.

I suspect that we'll be picking high enough to draft one of the "Blue Chip" LT's (or RT's) in next year's draft, along with possibly a high-end #1 WR talent.

That's one thing I noticed and liked with Polk and Baker on their reels — they're both snatchers who track the ball well to their hands.

I liked the idea of a "Mitchell Type", but I don't care for body-catchers and his problem with not properly regulating his diabetes is concerning.

Josiah Ezirim was the Saints last pick in the 7th round, I wish the Pats took him over Caeden Wallace... at least Josiah is potentially a starting tackle.

I'm just happy to be free from the bizarre drafting strategy that plagued this organization for years. Even if Wolf is just mediocre, it is a huge step up. I'm cautiously optimistic for the first time in years. Of course, it mostly hinges on Maye.

I will still miss Bill as a coach, but it is nice to see an actual plan. Even if the players do not work out, the vision is clear.

I assume that they traded down from 34 to 37 as a calculated risk. Atlanta @ 35 and Washington @36, I imagine did not have WR high on their draft list due to being loaded-ish. Lance Zierlein, who's dad coached OL so I will take Lances grades over others had KA .02 over Wallace. The jump from Yale to the NFL made it as much if not more of a project. Goncalves was graded under Wallace and has 33 1/4 arm length whereas Wallace has 34 inch arms.

It was an odd draft. Actually felt like a BB draft as it left me scratching my head at times.

Maye - no brainer. Ton of potential. Let’s hope he gets there.

Polk - A bit disappointed they didn’t take Ladd McConkey. Polk’s comp I saw was J. Myers, a good reliable WR. But I was hoping for more than reliable in the 2nd round, I think McConkey can be special.

Wallace - I don’t get this. Not only a bit of a reach, but we need a LT, not a guy who’s only played RT. There were also some LTs taken around this pick. If we had moved around a bit I feel we could have got one. If he ends up being a good starter, that’s good, but we are still likely looking for LT again next year.

Robinson - a big head scratcher. A reach at a position we don’t really have a need at. Especially with guys like Franklin, Sanders, and some of the RBs and Safety’s who were available around that pick. Once again if we had moved up a few picks we could have got an impact player.

Baker - I liked this pick. Good value here.

Dial - Depth in the secondary.

Milton - Head Scratcher. Don’t see the need for him.

Bell - like this pick. Really good value and he can play.

They chose the right order according to how the draft went. Just high enough to get a tier 1 qb, check.

At the top of rd 2, all the ‘sure’ ot options were gone and the next tier are mostly projects, which didn’t start going until later in the round . Wr was the right move, and they achieved a trade up from rd5 to rd4 in the process. They had their choice between ladd, Mitchell, and polk. We’ll see if they chose right.

Wallace is a question mark but naturally your 3rd pick will be. Id have preferred a trade up for fisher or suama but we’ll see how that shakes out. Overall hard to be upset

I don't know any of the players but I was really impressed with some of the things I heard about Polk. It sounds like he could be a real gem. Because of that I'll forgive the apostrophe that he has in his first name even though it reminds me of you-know-who.

Sure, leave out the part where I said "possible" lack of motivation in trying to move up. No need to school people on "it takes two to tango" but when other teams move up constantly to select a targeted player it makes one wonder about "lack of motivation" so go wave your pom poms elsewhere.

I would've been ok with Paul at #34, who was already my next-favorite LT besides Suamataia.

Here are the two main roads that Yesterday should've travelled:

- Paul / Suamataia at 37, then either Polk himself or his teammate McMillan, or Roman Wilson, at 68;

- Adonai Mitchell at 37, then Yale Left Tackle Kieran Amagadjie at 68.

Nobody knows how any of the players will turn out in the NYFL. That's going to take some time.
