Celtics 2023 - 2024 Discussion

Delusion. Brown has virtually nothing to do with White’s success. I’m not ****ting on Brown these days for the sake of the thread, but let’s just leave it there. Can talk about his individual game within his own contained island but he’s not opening up anything for White, and should not be cited as a factor for why White is killing analytics.
That’s because he’s had a very good season and you looked stupid for saying he is a liability and brought the team down. We’ll see if you can make it 48 hours without ****ting on him. That’s always an accomplishment on your part.

He was bringing the team down.

He continues to be a liability against tough defenses and in dogfight games.

He’s not capable of having a great season due to his flawed game outside of midrange and other 2 pt shot creation, where he does well to bring him up to average for a modern NBA player (since his 3pt and FT efficiency sucks.)

Couldn’t make it 10 minutes. I rest my case, enjoy the game.

This is nuts because he was so cold to start the season.

Everyone was excited about KP but Jrue Holiday was a terrific defensive player but when told by Mazzulla to shoot, look what is happening. In the long term he is probably a better get than KP.

Derrick White is an assassin.

No Brown. No Porzingis. No Horford. No Tatum in 4th quarter. He just dismantled the Jazz on both sides of the court.

20-0 run with Holiday, Hauser, Tillman, and Pritchard. Wrecking guys on defense, setting up everything on offense.

And really fun to watch the ball move.

Wouldn’t want to troll you all by pointing out that JB liked this post, and meanwhile the Celtics are 6-0 without him this year with an average margin of victory of 22.2 points, and a 17-4 record dating back to 2022-23.

Nice job by the team for bouncing back from those two losses. Neither team is particularly good so it’s no surprise but we’ll take it. Strong group effort in both games.

I’m ready for the playoffs. Regular season has started getting boring, especially with a team as good as this.

Do you think as we approach the playoffs that, the Celtics are slipping? The Athletic, in their latest NBA power ratings, showed the Nuggets and Thunders pulling ahead. This is a weekly snapshot. I was disappointed with Tatum's play in the Cavaliers & Nuggets games. I think that he took himself out of contention for MVP this season because of it. I also think he and the team created some concern about winning it all, this season, after losing twice to the Nuggets during the season. So at this point, The Atheltic has dropped them from #1 to #3 while advancing the Nuggets to #1 and the Thunders to #2. I think they dropped to #2 between the Nuggets and Thunders. I want the banner and this team looks like it has a chance to get it. So back to my question at the beginning of this post. Thanks

No, they’re not slipping.
The Cavs game was pretty flukey. They have 15+ point leads often so some weird stuff like that is inevitable.
But if you want to know why they seem so shaky, look at:

-Away Minnesota
-Away vs OKC
-Away vs Milwaukee
-Both games vs Denver

Arguably all of their toughest games they’ve lost. And more concerning is the way they lose when they’re not comfortably outclassing the other team.

Tatum is horrendous in crunch time, playing a stupid hybrid point guard role. And he takes moronic last second shots, hence their poor record on last possession games.

Brown needs to shoot less than 20 fgs per game and stop shooting contested 3s.

They need to run their offense through their two great point guards instead of the stupid J&J orchestrated offenses they always revert to against the best opponents. For whatever reason these two stop moving the ball and ruin the offensive flow. If they play a tough playoff series they’re toast if they become the Tatum Panic Drill in the closing minutes.

And the big factor: no matter how good they are as a 5, Jokic-Murray are the best 2.

First off Tatum was not a real MVP candidate and he really never has been in recent years. Maybe some day but it’s so unimportant in my mind.

As far as the Nuggets and Thunder? Sure I think that’d be a tough opponent, especially Denver. But the first thing to focus on is getting out of the East. I won’t believe the Celtics are “over” the Heat until I see it. While the Celtics are clearly the best team in the conference it won’t be easy. It never has been. They’ll face resistance.

Excellent, excellent reply. I agree with you; that is not the reason for the "good reply" comment. I like what you posted. It shall be interesting as they approach the tough ones.
I hope I am still alive to see another banner raised. It is very iffy on my part, but the Celtics can win it all if Brown and Tatum don't screw up. Please don't screw up, especially Brown. he needs to stop shooting 3s, more often than not he misses therefore taking a shot aways from someone that could have scored. He has to watch his fouls because he is about a 50% FT shooter again a waste of scoring shot by someone else as a FG if he doesn't foul. Both Tatum and Brown must reduce their TOs, too many. It is possible, #18.

Thanks for the response .
