Two out of the following three, please.

- Tyron Smith (2 year deal with a 3rd void year to reduce cap hits next two years)
- Ridley
- Simmons

They have more than enough cap space left to do it. All three would be even better but that may be a bit greedy.
Cousin, I like your train of thought. I mentioned K.J. Osborne WR who was an integral part of the Vikes and only 26, but two more FA sleepers:

DT DJ Reader form the Bengals who has been superb for them. Maybe a good discount because he hurt his quad in game 15. I see him as a Lawrence Guy replacement and 3 years younger. We need someone to go with Barmore.

Another possible Guy replacement would be Arik Armstead who refused to take a pay cut and was let go by the Niners. He has great size and can push the pocket. He had six sacks last season.

Another CB would be nice like T White........Or how about Xavien Howard?

Trade scenarios still exist with Tee Higgins and Sneed.
I think Fields will be cheaper now.....why not. He is still cheap in 2024. Still Draft a QB who won't be ready for a few years. Have Brissett as your back up and start Fields. Would you throw a 4th for him?

True, but there are lots of ways to spend money that don't involve overpaying for a free agent. You can make a trade, extend/restructure your current guys to free up room next year, make a higher volume of middle class signings, etc. It doesn't help the team to spend for the sake of spending, they should still be smart about it. Of course, it would ALSO be smart to get some bigger name free agents to fill positions of need, you just have to successfully identify which of those guys is worth it.
I agree, be calculated with it. Was just pointing out they have to spend majority of cap this year.

Would have liked Mooney as a cheaper alternative to Ridley. Type of guy who can potentially play better on his new deal than he did on his old one.
Good find I don't think Darnell Mooney have hit his true potential yet solid player.

Any actual impact moves today or more running it back/mid level signings?

I think that too, but when they get into conflict, that's when it's going to get interesting.
Wich I'm sure there will be, Mayo's such a personality that I can't see him and wolf bumping heads.. they are both 2 nice guys lol..

Yeah, I get the sense that the Patriots are the highest bidder but not by a huge amount, and the terms of the deals don't have the level of guarantees that the top free agents hoped for. Like @Steve102 said, agents likely expected they could take advantage of "the new regime" and hoodwink them for big money, and are surprised to discover that Eliot Wolf isn't falling for that ****.
To his credit this criticism or belly aching suggests he knows the market. The Onwenu signing suggests he is willing to pay a market rate, but he is not willing to overspend like a drunken sailor at a crack whore house.

The sailor has standards God damn it. And again after the tags and resigning the FAs available are underwhelming and all come with worts. Which given our cap space sucks.

Of course Wolf is playing hardball. If he screws up, he's not named GM after a farce of interviews in May. This is not surprising to me. The whole You're New and The Coach Said You Have Cash To Burn narrative smacks of the agents are surprised the guy knows what he's doing. Truthfully, who the hell is he supposed to be throwing money at? The FA class is meh.
I would've thrown money at McKinney. He ended up at $17M aav. We could afford that, even if it meant removing the tag on Dugger.

Yeah, but when was the last time you saw a team that didn't have personality conflicts at the top sooner or later? We had 19 years of unprecedented success and we still saw it. It's coming sooner or later.

You know that we're talking about a billionaire who pulled into a strip mall to get a hand job from a middle-aged woman, right?
In a Bentley to boot.

Maybe we offered $20M. We have no way to know.

Oh absolutely positively, I'm sure it's probably already happened, glaser is in the mix as well..

I personally am just really glad they locked up Onwenu and didn't have to use the tag. He's not a premier tackle but he's fine and lets them not have to worry too much about having a starting RT. If they get a prospect who develops into a solid RT this year or next year then they move Onwenu back to guard, where he's a premier talent. But most of all, he exemplifies the type of guy they want to keep - did his job, did what was best for the team and whatever was asked of him, never complained. Drafted in later rounds and became a crucial part of the operation. And was rewarded for it. That sends a message to others.

"Dude! *slams office door* STFU! I know Bill isn't here and we can say **** more freely, but these guys will be sharks with blood in the water!"

While it was refreshing as a fan, it's probably better to play with the cards a little closer to the vest.
Or they were playing good cop, bad cop. Saying you're burning cash is going to draw interest from agents that otherwise could ignore one of the worse teams in the league with no QB and a rookie HC.

I'd much rather have MHJ or Odunze for Brissette to throw to than having a Rookie QB, Ridley and one of those.
Fair assessment Cousin.

Not all sailors.

I served with one who got a reenlistment bonus, who went out that night to a strip joint and was giving $100 tips to the strippers.

He was a very popular guy,

For that night.
