QB room needed a change. It wasn't just talent, it seemed to be attitude (which is also a reflection on the coaching staff, to be fair). Never disliked Zappe, but no doubt they're going QB at #3 now, and better to not have that rook potentially at odds with an incumbent "starter".

Now bring in a reclamation project with a team first attitude to push for bridge starter to let the new guy to get up to speed. With Brissett in the room they can become their own wolf pack.
