A hard no on Penix, or Nix for that matter.

Concerned about hurting their draft stock or B. To me, they're exhibiting a bit of 'I'm all that and a bag of chips without having proved it in the NFL" mentality, which would also concern me.Why wouldn't Daniels and Williams want to throw at the combine?
If he could be a doesn't get even remotely seriously /often injured and even stronger armed Alex Smith (if not better in other respects as well), I'm in!!!Good take on McCarthy from Daniel Jeremiah
Sounds like the traits needed in the NFL

That was my thinking. It doesn't make for a good impression if I'm drafting for my team. They have absolutely nothing to gain and everything to lose
I like Cooper’s athleticism and versatility. 8 sacks..nice.Rough class. I've liked Ulofoshio for a while I really like his game.
Top 60
Cooper/Gray
Top 100
Ulofoshio/Colson/Wilson (depending on medicals)
Darius Muasau
Tough year if you need a Saf, RB, LB
Cooper is very interesting. When I watch him he's got fixable problems. Shoot out a cannon, explosive, quick trigger. Much better firing downhill. Not the best handling OL but I think he'd be a great project for Mayo. He's got a lot of room to grow in so many areas but is downhill demon. I like Gray and Colston. Ulofoshio is very versatile and plays like his hair is on fire. Muasau except for his lack of size/athleticism looks like a very solid player. Very efficient, great footwork, ability to scrape. Big time communicator. Always on time never caught off guard. Tough group if you need an immediate starter.
If that is the case, we should be drafting a QB at 3 or 4.A hard no on Penix, or Nix for that matter.
Despite the bust rate for 1st Round QB's (or any player drafted high for that matter), there is probably going to be a couple of QB's drafted high that will pan out. So, as the Duke of Wellington once stated "Sometimes you have to cut cards with the Devil". I won't fault the team for taking Drake Maye at #3 just because he does have legit potential and is young enough to sit for a year or even two while they hopefully build up the rest of the offense. This is going to be a 3 to 5 year rebuild (and that's if done properly). I was a fan in the 70's right up until we won of 1st SB (and we mostly sucked the years before). I, as have other fans of my age, have learned to be patient, and if we see legit progress, it'll prove to be worth it.If that is the case, we should be drafting a QB at 3 or 4.
I just hope teams start seeing a lot of flaws in Williams, or they start listening to Merrill Hoge who thinks he's a flop. Ideally teams will pass on him and drop him right into our laps.Despite the bust rate for 1st Round QB's (or any player drafted high for that matter), there is probably going to be a couple of QB's drafted high that will pan out. I actually hope that it's the opposite. That one of the two teams drafting ahead of us value Daniels more and Maye is there for us at #3. I have a lot of reservations regarding Daniels. But, as it's always a crap shoot, he could turn out to be the real deal. But, I'd rather have Maye (who's a couple to three years younger) and has a bigger frame and stronger arm. He's also very mobile for a pocket passer.I just hope teams start seeing a lot of flaws in Williams, or they start listening to Merrill Hoge who thinks he's a flop.
