Cousin, This trade makes so much sense to both Teams. Jefferson is aligned to get paid as one of the top three WR in the NFL. We now can afford to sign him. Why wouldn't we? He might be the premier WR in the NFL
Jefferson is predicted to get paid $30mm to jump Hills $28mm. Kirk Cousin's number is going to be $50mm. If you sign them both that's 36% of your yearly salary CAP for two players.
So do the Vikes take a step back and opt for a top draft pick at QB with a rookie salary number?
Think Randy Moss. If we drop to #11 from #3 we still get a top OL or additional WR. Now let's take #11 and swap it to the Steelers for pick #20 , #51 in the second round and #151 in the fourth.
Perhaps J.C Latham at #20, McCarthy or Nix at #34, WR Ladd Mcconkey at #51,
T Kingsley Suamataia, BYU (double dip) at #68 in the first three Rounds.
There is going to be a QB who will drop. Be it Nix , McCarthy , Penix or even Rattler as a thought at pick #34
So Jefferson WR, Latham, OT, QB Nix or McCarthy?, Mcconkey WR. and another OT in Suamataia by Friday night. You extend Jefferson ASAP.
Would that make your first couple days of the Draft? We would need a bridge QB. Flacco?
Get a few FA like Williams, Van Ginkle, Ridley, Schultz and sign one of the expensive DTs. Resign our top 3 FA and we should at least be younger and competitive.
