Oh oh, not good.

That’s another scenario, would depend on how much the team values MHJ vs a better oline, let’s not forget better WRs make the o line jobs easier and in some ways mitigate the need for a bookend tackle if Douglas and MH J can get open in 2 seconds.
MHJ has a HoF ceiling if we buy the hype. If it’s not a QB we’ve gotta take him, if available at 3.

a better OL than having Lowe (LT) and McDermott (RT)starting and Anderson as out swing OT?

If we have two OT coming out of free agency, there is another discussion. Until then, we need to draft at least 2 OT's early.

And no, Douglas and MJH are not enough to make Love and McDermott adequate as our OT's. And yes, I understand than many would pay $20M a year for our all-pro quality RG to play RT again. Others would rather spend that 2024 cap money on a WR or two.

If nobody wants the job it’s terrifying but I don’t think that’s the case.
I mean I would move to LA tomorrow if I didn’t have kids so I understand.

Ok.. so Brady wasn't worth 25 million a season? Again I'm just stating everything that's out there. Please understand this isn't a Brady Vs bill debate. Brady broke the whole mold of a career expectation from a QB. The guy as SAS reported directly from Kraft, Bill said he couldn't play anymore? I believe when his contract was set up by Bill in the 2019 off season that he was done.
This is the last time I’m posting this: if we paid Brady $25 million in 2020 we maybe make the playoffs and definitely lose in the first round just like in 2019. That roster was out of breath and using $25 million on Brady would only make it worse. We franchise tagged Thuney, extended McCourty and Slater.

Somebody will take it. But it is definitely a little scary. How bad could it be where Nick Caley doesn’t even want the job?

It’s not like guys don’t go to be OC of teams with poor talent, especially with cap room and good draft positioning. There’s more to it in an organizational sense.

No my point is whoever we hire needs to be 100 percent committed.
any chance he is stringing us along out of revenge?
yes

He might be tired of Mayo interviewing so many candidates, and acting as if he can have Caley any time he wants.

I’d suspect with how things have unfolded and how much of BB’s staff still remains that OC candidates are confused about ownership and Mayo’s autonomy.

OK, how much would Kraft offer for this promotion? Maybe he can get as much by staying. It is certainly worth talking to his present coach about possibilities.

That’s what I’ve been thinking. There is so much limbo with Belichick’s staff. The Krafts may want to be hands off but for now they need to be hands on.

These candidates need to know what they are walking into from the big boss himself, not an inexperienced head coach in his first weeks on the job.

Ok. We franchised Thuney in 2020, we revised Gilmore in 2020, I don't care about what Bill said. It's bull, he didn't want to pay Brady the drew Brees contract,. I see your point on the roster. However Brady should have never left.

Why are we talking about this on Mayo's coaching staff thread. Who gaf about 2020?

Wow, surprising hire. I didn't even know we interviewed him.
