OT: Simmoms ... Atlanta Front Office Does Not Want Bill.

Slowik is literally half Bill's age and Morris is 25 years younger. Those guys have better odds sticking around than Bill does once that record is broken.

There's also a reason why no NFL HC has ever won anything after age 70.
This is why teams lose. Slowik has a one year record, greatly aided by hitting on a QB, and playing one of the weakest schedules you'll ever see (Texans played only 4 playoff teams). The fact you'd go with either of these guys shows why that org doesn't win. These are bad decisions.

Gotta go with history here which doesn't bode well for BB.
I mean it's one thing to hire a coach who might not pan out but you don't know that for sure. It's another to hire a coach where you know for sure you'll be looking for another one within a couple years or so.

Definitely. I just don't see a rental coach being any better. Can't really build a team your way knowing you're out the door sooner than later. Can't imagine players would want to buy in to that.

They didn't make the Schedule they have two very good WR's and other pieces I am going with youngs guys over the old goat 10 out of 10 times BB is not infallible. The Eagles or Cowboys would be good for him but they are sticking with their current guys tough luck BB.

Or potential Assist Coaches.

McKay is largely in his position because he got MBS across the finish line which is the crown jewel of the Falcons organization right now.
McKay was "fired" from the GM role and moved into another part of the organization before. They can do it again, or keep the guy that has them going 7-10 every year.

Yeah? Maybe do something like team him up with Kiper in the draft where Bill could use his encyclopedic knowledge but doesn't have to be the dynamic one. He'd actually still be talking about the players on day 3.
“Mel, I can’t believe Jordan Richards is still available in the 4th round. Has been a good player at Stanford. He kind of plays both strong safety and free safety. Been a real productive guy for them. I think he's a guy I like, you'll like having around your team.”

Bill Belichick to the Falcons “Losing Momentum”
Ian Logue
Following his departure from the New England Patriots, there seemed to be little doubt that given the amount of openings that were continuing to become available around the league, Bill Belichick would be on someone's sideline in 2024. The only question would just be where he'd end up.

seems like the other organizations agree with the falcons strategy and rather hire first time HC than BB
so they are all making bad decisions and should listen to patsfans because BB is the best available Coach for their teams? i don't think just looking into next 2-3 years is a successfull GM strategy but with BB i wouldn't plan any longer, so i would hire someone else as well

Why is this surprising? When Brady was available the Bradystans were convinced 2/3rds of the league would be clamoring to grab him. It came down to two teams, three maybe who were in a position or interested.

2 of those 4 years were playoff years. Mediocre for him is something teams like Atlanta would love. They haven't made the playoff since 7 years ago, and haven't put up anything near 12-5 and 10-7.
Of course Atlanta went to a fairly recent SB…

Maybe might not want to mention that to Atlanta.

You're missing the fact that these teams are starved for winning and that his mediocre is better than their best.

Also missing the fact of what it means when your team is either rebuilding and still has old slow guys (like 2021) or severely injured (2019).

The idea that Belichick lost his fastball in 6 months (2018 season when he won the Super Bowl by only allowing 3 points to one of the greatest offenses in the history of the NFL to the 2019 season when they went 12-5) is, frankly, preposterous.
Lol, dude you've hit the record on the # of excuses for Belichick. Bill can do no wrong. Ever. It's someone else's fault or this or that. You do realize you come across as a blind homer and completely dishonest.

We were all here. We actually saw everything that happened.

This is a fair criticism. Belichick isn't gonna be around for a long time and I get why ATL might not go with someone like him especially since they don't even have a QB and Belichick has not done a good job developing a young QB post Brady.

Ironically, if Bill had kept Brady around and allowed him to finish his career here, as I feel he should have, then he would have probably gotten the win record this year with a new QB and be riding off into the sunset as a conquering hero. Instead, Bill went the too early rather than too late route with Brady and it bit him on the butt.

Every team recycles, every team rebuilds. I looked up and down at the Falcons roster and I can see why it has appeal. The OL is there, the LBs are there. It needs a QB, a pass rush or two, and a CB. I think they are ready to compete, especially in that division. In 3 years, you have to start all over anyway.

And he knows football like nobody else. His analysis on the top players of all time NFL Network program was amazing.
Agreed. There's no one more connected to the game and more qualified than Bill. The NFL 100 was perfect for him. Give him his own show. 10 episodes of an America's Game type on the history of the game, co-hosted by Rich Eisen. Must watch for any NFL fan.

Well, the weird thing is that 2016 is never considered a recent event around here when speaking of Belichick's record, so I'm not sure we can call it recent for Atlanta either.

Whichever poster you're going back and forth with is on my ignore list so I know I made the correct decision.

"Bradystans" like who?

What other organizations are you referring to?

Each organization is different. San Diego is hiring Harbaugh. A guy with a proven record far from a first time guy with only one year as a OC, or a retread who failed his first time in Morris. Carolina is hiring a sacrificial lamb (no picks, no talent, the craziest owner in the NFL). Tennessee and Washington are clearly on record as having owners who want to be involved in coaches meetings, and this is why Tenn. wanted to get rid of Vrabel. These are all entirely different situations. If Buffalo fired McDermott, that's a situation where I'd wonder why they're not hiring Belichick, because the owner there is hands off. Just like Atlanta.
