OT: Simmoms ... Atlanta Front Office Does Not Want Bill.

The point though is that come playoff time, there's no other HC out there that can prepare a team like Belichick.
I mean, this is what happened in Bill's last playoff game:

1. Worse playoff loss of his career: 47-17.
2. Largest halftime deficit (27-3) in Patriots playoff history.
3. Buffalo scored TDs on its first 7 possessions. The 8th series was a victory formation.
4. It was the first game in NFL history in which one team never attempted a FG, punted or turned the ball over (via INT, FUM or TO on downs).

Total humiliation.

I really don't see the point in hiring BB without allowing him the players he needs to compete.

We know the defense is different from most other teams, 2 gap DTs, big DEs that set the edge, multiple DBs that play several different positions and hide their D as they switch from zone to man, big strong safeties (Mapu, Dugger and Peppers). Bend but don't break, flood the middle of the field.

There's no point in hiring him at all if you don't give him the pieces to do what he does best.
So you not only have to scrap the entire FO and coaching staff but also the players? For a 72 yo coach? Lol, no wonder he's not getting any interviews aside from Blank.

Falcons have won 7 games 5 of the past 6 seasons. The other year they won 4 games.. They fired Quinn and Smith, fired Dimitroff, overhauled their roster, all yielding the same result. That’s the Rich McKay record as their team President. BB would be stupid to settle for a job under that no talent assclown.

BB has no other job offers as of now though
I wonder where he'll end up

This is what Belichick should do. He'd be good at it.

He'll always have this Ace up his sleeve. With all of the discussion about how BB relates to younger players I wonder about the flip side of that. Why aren't many younger players/coaches interested in learning from him? If you know about BBs affinity for Ed Reed you'd understand why. At heart BB is a football nerd. Ed's hunger for any advantage made him greater than his physical tools would suggest. Like most nerds he's a little off socially. You'd think in this current atmosphere of youngsters with multiple social challenges coming into the workplace that they'd also have a little give to go along with their take on "just wanting to be understood." BB will have everyone in his corner when it's all over and the blood--lusty journalists of today try to become poets tomorrow.

This Patsgofor4 fam.

Lol

No shame in BB calling it a career. He doesn’t have to prove anything, He’s going to the HOF. Nobody cares about that stupid record and Shula himself isn’t here anymore anyway to see it broken. Bruschi said it best he’s got 6 rings as a HC he doesn’t need that record to be the greatest coach of all time.

It’s too bad Kraft had to fire him otherwise he could have retired publicly as a Patriot.

Unless some surprise opening pops up it looks like it is Atlanta or nothing for Bill. Crazy to think he might not be on the sidelines anywhere next year.
I'll be surprised if Bill is out of a job. Maybe he and Pete can get a class-action lawsuit going against the NYFL for age discrimination.

Weird as it sounds, probably some media job.

You say he has to be, but if that was the case, he probably could have just made it very clear that he would have accepted that here.

Bill leaving tells me "Kraft wanted Bill out of having full control, Bill didn't want to be somewhere where he didn't have full control and they set up a nice little amicable exit".

I think that was the case as well. But I think the Kraft’s real priority was keeping Mayo, and they knew he wouldn’t wait forever.

Even wierder is that he would be great at it if he wanted to be. No one knows more about football.
Yeah? Maybe do something like team him up with Kiper in the draft where Bill could use his encyclopedic knowledge but doesn't have to be the dynamic one. He'd actually still be talking about the players on day 3.

I think having him as an analyst for games could be great if he embraced it.

I am sure his age have a lot to do with that need a guy for more than Two years. Father time catches up to us us sooner or later.

So we're gonna take that one game and say he sucks as a HC? Got it.

Yeah, although I wouldn't be surprised if he's a guy that the media will speculate on getting back into coaching, like they did with Cowher and Chucky for a long time.

Can't see him with Kiper unless they let him smirk and roll his eyes.
