I agree that the team should not let either QB go until they have replacements. There is some urgency around Mac because Mayo needs to focus on silencing all of the noise ASAP to allow the team to focus on the offseason. The team could trade Mac before the draft if they sign a veteran backup.I could see it, though I'm more inclined to say he gets traded after the draft, possibly during early camp. I can see them signing a mid-level vet (like a Brissett type), drafting someone at 3, then letting Zappe and Mac compete for the 3rd QB role, with it going to whoever seems to have the best attitude going into camp. But as rough as the QB room has been, I'd rather have Mac or Zappe as QB3 than the revolving door we had this past season, so better to keep those options open until you're sure you don't need them.
Mac’s already damaged goods, he is mentally weak.I could see it, though I'm more inclined to say he gets traded after the draft, possibly during early camp. This would be the dumbest thing possible. Why?Don't know sounds likely he's going to be the starter
Mac won't fetch much in his current state very low returns at a NEED position. I say keep him as a Back-up if you can't get more than a Fourth. Mac can't blame BB this time around I think Mayo will bring in Real #1 type Talent on Offense around here not the Filene's Basement BB types.I could see it, though I'm more inclined to say he gets traded after the draft, possibly during early camp. Right, because this is the excited reaction of Kraft being all in on Mac after watching him play. Lol, you guys.
I agree he's not going to devalue any player publicly especially a first rounder that he may want to trade or keep as backup.Well he can't say "Mac sucks and I can't wait to deal him" and watch his already low value plummet to zero value. He has to build him up in order to get anything for him.
Mac is entering the last year of his rookie contract. So you either recoup some draft capital from his wasted #1 pick or he walks for nothing. Even a late round draft pick swap is better than nothing.Mac won't fetch much in his current state very low returns at a NEED position. I hope you're rightThis would be the dumbest thing possible. Why?
Take a look at the Giants. The fanbase had given up on Daniel Jones, he entered the last year of his rookie contract when Daboll arrived. Daboll brought fresh energy and Daniel played the best season of his career. He wasn’t great, he was merely serviceable, but they won games.
Enter next offseason and the Giants have to pay Daniel Jones or be left without a QB. They pay him, and he turns back into a pumpkin again. Now they’re saddled with his ridiculous contract.
Get rid of Mac and start over, if Mayo can find his QB in the draft he’ll have four years to build his team around a franchise guy. Mac is not the guy the same way Daniel Jones wasn’t the guy.
Mac’s already damaged goods, he is mentally weak.
Bring Zappe back, I like the idea of bringing Brissett back if you keep the same offensive system… but for gods sakes draft a QB in the first or second round.
... Or alienate anyone in the locker room. Nothing but sunshine and daisies to the press at this point, especially re: rostered players.I agree he's not going to devalue any player publicly especially a first rounder that he may want to trade or keep as backup.
How about a season of Corky/Goff??Not sure I would tune in for another season of Corky Jones. Please no!

Zappe has started 8 games, Mac has started three years (42 games). Zappe has the potential to improve, he played an air raid system in college and had some development needed.I am for moving on from both guys. Jones has real mental toughness issues. And Zappe is clearly a back up who thinks he is a starter and doesn't seem to be willing to help a rookie to become the franchise.
Just wait till day 2 of joint practice.Don't know sounds likely he's going to be the starter
The problem is that bb let him throw except Mac threw it to the other team at the end of the gameI mean, if Kraft is truly convinced that Mac just needz moar time, and Bill Belichick was holding him back - well, presumably those folks would watch the True MacCorkle Jones (tm).
