And now that BB is gone, this new inexperienced, reactionary "brain trust" will certainly stick at #3 and draft a QB.

Maye needs work, but we don't have to worry about his build. Daniels has tantalizing skills, but his build concerns me. Some point to Brady and say Daniels just has to add weight/muscle, but sometimes a persons frame can only add so much of the aforementioned. Time will tell on both QB's.

The issue with Daniels, to me, is he does not have the arm strength to throw the mid-level throws into the tight spaces required in the NFL. Does the fact he is an elite runner and great deep ball thrower make up for that? Not sure, maybe, maybe not.

Daniels has Tyquan Thornton legs. You're not the only one that sees it.

He has thin bones and a narrow frame. With all the running he does, it is concerning.

His throws are a huge risk.

Plenty of people loved Lamar Jackson's potential coming out of college. He was talked up as a potential top pick because of his skills. But look how far he dropped. Maybe in retrospect teams are thinking this kid is the next Lamar, worth the gamble, but I'm more of the mind that, well, it's still a huge risk.

Would rather have Penix at 25 than Daniels at 3.

I'm conflicted about Daniels arm strength. All of the scouting reports that I've read thus far (which means probably not all of them) states that he has a cannon for an arm and excels at deep throws. I wonder if any problems with mid-level throws are due to a lack of having to make those throws on a regular basis in college (either because of the LSU system itself or just not attempting those throws that often). Brady excelled at those throws and was incredibly accurate. So, if his actual arm strength isn't an issue, could it just be a question of the right QB Coach combined with Daniels commitment to practicing such throws and improving his overall passing game skills? I don't yet know the answer, but I suppose we'll find out wherever he ends up being the QB.

I've often wondered what Brady would have been like if he had Bledsoe's arm strength to add to the skill set that he developed.

He throws a really good deep ball and excellent fades down the field because he can put some air under the ball on those throws and he leads receivers well.
I only saw a couple throws over the middle into tight spaces. I think he’s OK if he can completely step into the throw.
He had many plays where the throw in the middle is there but clearly did not trust his arm to fit it in there, so he ran instead, which mostly worked out, but if he does not trust his arm strength it’s a concern that will need to be a focus in his workout analysis.

Why would you give up 2nds, plus the trade up value that equals 2 more firsts to get a shaky QB who hasn’t proven he is good that you have to pickup a 5th year option and pay him a guaranteed 30 mill in 2025?

Perhaps (hopefully, especially if we draft him) the intermediate throws and accuracy can be coached. If actual arm strength isn't a problem, then his technique can be improved (that's assuming that we get a solid QB Coach).

I rewatched some of the AFCCG in 2001 the other day, and Drew used to throw lasers in there. Too hard, if you ask me. It was crazy the amount of velocity he got on his throws.

It amazes me that so many QBs can't do it.

You know, Aaron Rodgers struggles with this a little bit. Drew Brees was excellent. But some of these All-Pros look pretty bad on the short ones. Mahomes is better than some but he has some clunkers.

It's got to be a matter of practice.

Brady worked constantly on his arm strength. By the time his shoulder healed fully in 2007, it was apparent. He never had Bledsoe's arm, but that dude could sling it when he needed to later in his career.

Here's another factor in Brady's velocity: the ability to process so quickly, to move around the pocket, and to make confident decisions, enabled him to set his feet and throw from a base. I don't care how strong your arm is, if you can't set your feet, your ball is not going to come at speed as it will from the arm of a guy who has avg. NFL arm strength and who sets his feet. Mechanics, mechanics, mechanics. People look at arm strength as though it's decided in skills competition at the Pro Bowl. It's decided in the pocket, when multiple defenders are breathing down your neck.

Sports Science had Brady in to throw more than a decade ago, and they looked at his throws during games, and they said he threw the ball with more velocity than anyone in football, for precisely these reasons.

If you could get inside the mind of a QB, you'd always pick the really good ones.
