RE: Rams Asst. ST coach Jeremy Springer being interviewed by Mayo... this was verbatim from the article:

"...the Rams’ special teams unit was the worst in football, but the Patriots obviously like what Springer brings to the table."
They're interviewing Jerry Springer...? Kraft wasn't kidding when he said they do things that are "unorthodox"...

Weird that we are interviewing the worst st coaches at least due to unit rankings so far.

Considering he's dead... that'll be something to see.

my prediction looks correct Patriots want young coaches to relate to players Better.
I think this makes sense.
Mayo sees color and he clearly sees age as well.

Hiring a coach named Jerry Springer is asking for trouble

This may be an improvement: "Coach, what do we do?" ['Stern look'] "OK, just go out there like kamikazes, got it."

Those locker room interactions going to be lit.
And Mac why do you feel like you your being sabotaged by your coaching staff?
Troy have you always underachieved getting the most out of your men?
Does this happen in your romantic life as well?
Tell me Cam how does it make you feel when fans say you could be replaced by a high schooler to coach these special team?
Why haven’t they been special?
Robert? Have you always been attracted to women much too young for you?
Do you feel you would of landed her if you weren’t stinking Rich?

I can live with Josh.
You have to, there is no free house in New England currently available
Thanks for your service for the team
Signed RKK

Here are the rules for the hiring process during the post season, as I didn't see them:

Edit: It says head coaches, but it seems like most of the points apply for all coaches. If someone has them definitively for all coaches, that'd be swell.

One thing I am also thinking about regarding all the "DC" interviews - many of these interviews might ultimately be to get intel on guys that they will want to offer different roles to later if Bill poaches a bunch of guys from the staff. Let's say Steve leaves - Lukabu or Hodges might be the new LB coach. If Pellegrino leaves - Parker could be the new cornerbacks coach. Or if Brian Belichick leaves, they need a safeties coach - maybe that's Parker. Etc.

So these interviews let them knock out the requirements of the Rooney Rule in order to promote Covington or Steve, and also let them meet with guys that they can hire for other roles if they need to also. I am sure they are more worried about Bill poaching from that side of the ball. They probably don't care about the offensive side - they intend to replace most of that side regardless.
