That’s not good

I don't even really think Bill the coach is that good anymore. Weird challenges or lack thereof, weird timeout usage, weird approaches at the end of halves or games seemingly not trying to score points, constant dumb pre snap penalties, sloppy play, inability to stop mobile quarterbacks or react to teams with speed.

We're talking about scouting and evaluation. Who picked these guys, right? I mean, if we're going to talk about scrap heap guys who joined the Patriots, I'd give Belichick credit for Jabril Peppers.

But I thought this is strictly about the draft. Clearly, Jones can play.

Zappe is a backup in this league. A 4th rounder for a backup who pans out is a good pick. He's 4-3 as a starter.

16 offensive picks over the last 3 years, only 11 defensive. FA/trades: 4 WRs with decent sized contracts, 3 TEs.

Criticize him for the people he brought in, but not the effort. They've expended a lot of draft resources and FA/trades on bringing people in.

That’s not good

Bill the coach, may be fine on the defensive side of the field, but very poor on the offensive side of the ball. And special teams, a part he seems to emphasize more than almost any other team, has also been poor the last two years. So Bill the coach is not all that fine 4 years running
