everything that we need to know about the draft order and Sunday’s games is here.

All of that nonsense to hyperventilate over a likely first-round quarterback bust promising the fan base three years of heartburn.

They couldn't do worse than Mac even if they made every reasonable attempt to do so.

Trading down from wherever they land is the only sane alternative. Too many needs.

Do you still trade down if all the extra picks being offered are in 2025?

me-NO.

I’m not too sold on trading down anyway. Not convinced there is a viable partner.

This 1st RD pick could set them up for the next 10 years. Nothing really that important though.

Certainly not as important as beating the lowly Jete for the 16th time in a row, because the message is still not clear who the better team has been. Patriots must show the entire world that when it comes to the Jete, they need to know who their daddy is. Lol
Well, it's too bad that a first round pick guarantees nothing.

Don't let these facts get in the way, but there are more than 30 QBs in the HOF and only 6 of them were the first QB taken. Of those only 4 were the first pick, Bradshaw (1970), Elway (83), Aikman (89) and PEDton (98). There were plenty of first picks at QB who didn't make it into the HOF though. The remaining 21 HOF QBs were taken behind 68 other QBs who didn't make it.

And at the other positions the numbers are even greater. Most of the QBs are taken earlier than other positions.

Wild how that can be true. I'll still expect and want that either Bill or a new coach draft one with our top 5 pick.

Actually, you were calling out an entirely different member. I just found it silly for someone have the delusion to assume anyone who disagreed with your take is “clueless”.

And the Manning thing is pure unsubstantiated conjecture which is a giant reach.

More likely is that Manning was butthurt that the Colts had the gall to want to move on from him given his physical condition at the time.

He was old, washed up and ineffective.

He didn’t appreciate hearing it and holds a grudge. Doesn’t make it less true at the time.

I get some old-timers pounding the table that “every win matters” like it’s 1975 and the team DNA doesn’t drastically change each year…but it does.

Especially true this year:

Bill will be gone.

As will most if not all his staff.

There is no carry-forward value to a meaningless win vs the Jets to end an impotent year when the house will be cleaned anyway.

Assets matter.

The difference in point value between #3 and #7 is 700 points…which is equivalent to pick #26 in the first round.

THAT is a quantifiable asset vs some vague “a win matters” take.

Obviously you are free to disagree, but my point is we aren’t all “clueless” for weighing a better pick vs beating the Jets in a game no one will remember in 6 months.
Really? I called someone here clueless and you took offense to that

I never called you clueless and if I called someone else that then you should have no problem producing that post. Then I can apologize to them if they care.

I'm more of a trade back type. More picks means more chances.

I couldn't find some of the older player's info and didn't remember the possible FA pickups. But this is a list of the QBs that I could dig up. I also added in Big Ben and Brady who'll be in the HOF;

That
I hope item #1 is true, and that the Pats can draft no worse than pick 5.

Losing to the Rats is not an easy proposition.
That DL will be ready to bat balls down.

I think if the Jets have success running the ball they can win it.
I don’t put it past the Jets to throw the game.

Agreed, those that think this is automatic might be in for a surprise. Their Team, just like our Team is playing for future work/contracts. Could be interesting.

I know what the players will be doing. If you had a clue you would too, even though your a troll.
See above…hence “clueless”.

I wasn’t offended, just thought it was a bad take.

Year one of the five year plan starts next year. Better draft tackles in both of the first two rounds.

Or trade down just enough to still get the OT like Alt, and then getting Penix?

Home run potential.
