Many rumors floating around and insiders yapping. These coaches have kids in school and all the family stuff.
Hopefully Kraft considers this and makes a quick decision giving coaches time to plan.

I think anything beyond the end of the month is wrong for many reasons.

Kraft has plans for Jim Harbuagh to succeed BB? I do not believe that it will happen in a million years, but this hire checks so many boxes.

1 Offensive minded HC.
2 Former NFL QB and Id say that he did a pretty good job with Kaepernick
3 Some of his Michigan coaching staff comes with him.
4 The GOATs alma mater.
5 Prior NFL HC experience. I do not believe that Kraft would deviate from this quality.
6 If you are drafting a QB @ # 3, who better to access the current field of draftees? To your point of acting swiftly, the next Patriots regime gets to work on 2023 NFL draft decisions.

Kraft has plans for Jim Harbuagh to succeed BB? I do not believe that it will happen in a million years, but this hire checks so many boxes.

Kraft is fairly hands off.

He only became more vocal and involved after Brady left and BB totally botched the QB position needing to sign Cam in the 11th hour because Stidham was not ready.

I've mentioned that a few times, he might not want it to look bad for Bill so everyone thinks it's the status quo. We would never know.

This whole issue is only relevant if they actually hire a new guy and his hiring is announced.

If the new GM with final say is already with the team, like Groh or Wolf, the dynamic isn't going to change much.

Belichick doesn't do the scouting. He confers with the people who do and he makes the final decisions.

All GMs confer with their coaches and together they select the players most appropriate for the style of play. A GM isn't going to saddle his coach with players he can't use.

The only difference may be something that is spur of the moment, like draft day trades, etc. Look at McVay in Los Angeles. He is in the room at every moment when his GM is making decisions on draft day.

I don't see that. He made sure everyone knew about the OC position. He's going to want to look to be proactive and not like John freakin' Henry.

I’m sure Belichick would want to prioritize offense as well.

I just posted yesterday that we use a lot more draft resources on offensive players than we do on defensive players. Someone responded that they are later round picks, but in the last three drafts, we've used 2 first rounders and 1 second rounder on offense. We've also expended a lot of resources ($$) on FA/trades like Algholor, Jonnu Smith, Smith-Schuster, Henry, Bourne, Parker. These aren't bargain basement guys either.

Belichick can fairly be criticized for failing to bring in talent on offense, but not for lack of resources expended (i.e. lack of trying).

I have thought about this too lol. They would call it "internal re-organization" but not specify what that was.

By that logic, it could have already happened last year or the year before, for all we know. There's been such an emphasis on "the collaborative approach"...

Those guys you listed with exception of maybe Henry are 2 or 3 receiving options at best. When you try to build through FA you're going to get other teams' cast-offs. If they're a #1 guy teams will bend over backwards to keep them...unless there's some kind of offer they can't refuse in a trade.

All it is is excuse making. BB even said when asked about not addressing the Oline and grumbled about how he drafted 3 guys. Sow might be something maybe. The other guys haven't shown anything and he didn't draft any guards.

And there is no excuse for Harry and Thornton. Bad picks. Don't fit the system, insofar as the Pats have an offensive system.
