Doesn't seem right that Washington would get a better pick than us. They beat us, damn it, we earned this
Head to head comes after conference record. Patriots hold the edge there, which is why Washington is ahead of them.

Currently tied with Washington in SoS.

Wait a min, where are these guys? I miss Kontra, Dingelberry, where is Rob? where is dabruinz?

3rd is correct

Washington is ahead
They are "ahead", as I type this, because of a differential in the number of games their opponents have played (it's literally WAS .51481 vs. NE .51493).

If they end up at the exact same SOS after next week, the Patriots will pick first (b/c they lost to WAS).

Yeh. Dallas has to play starters next week. So Washington is losing.

Tennessee will likely lose

AZ might lose

Bears have first pick

Patriots might be 5th
But...
Washington & NE are tied at 4-12 with a .515 strength of schedule.
Washington plays Dallas.
NE plays Jets.
If both lose, Washington lost to a 12-win team and NE lost to a 7-win team.
Would that tweak the strength of schedule slightly in NE's favor?
If so, a loss to the Jets could reinstall NE at #2.

They might end up there after the late games.

There's been a lot of illness going around. Can't Zappe catch something this week?

Not sure about that. Here are the tie-breakers. Division and conference don't apply. Interconference:
Pats 0-5
WAS 2-3

Even with just 1 week left, there's no way to predict what will happen with the SOS thrown in until the last scores are in next week. It'll be like watching an election.

It's bizarre - What I'm getting from the official rules is that the conference tiebreaker doesn't apply if they're not in the same conference, but it sounds like I may be wrong here (subject to ctpatsfan77's post) . Note that the below has no mention of conference before the following rules:

If the teams have the same strength of schedule, division or conference tiebreakers are applied. If the divisional or conference tiebreakers are not applicable, or ties still exist between teams of different conferences, ties will be broken the following tie-breaking method:
  1. 1. Head-to-head, if applicable

SEA win will bump WAS higher in SOS. Can't believe they're not taking care of business right now those F'ers.

Tankathon is already factoring in all 17 opponents. That was one of the things I didn’t realize.

So, if Washington & NE do in fact tie on strength of schedule, then it goes to division.
NE has a 4-9 conference record currently. Washington has a 2-11 conference record.

So if Tankathon has not yet entered the Dallas strength of schedule for the current Washington record, then NE could sneak ahead.
I don't know if they use the strength of schedule of games already played, or the current record of all teams that will be played.

A win next week and we can fall as far as #7

Before the game, we could predict with 100% certainty that the Pats would pick #9 at the worse. Currently, I can say #6 at the absolute worst even with a win against the Jete (confidently I can say #4).

It updates as games are completed. If SEA wins that may be enough to give Pats #2. If SEA, CIN & DEN win, then Pats will have #2 with a gap in SoS (not sure by how much).
