I want at least 10 interviews to get the right guy
I don't care how many interviews it is, but I agree with your overall point of finding a new guy

Here's an analogy that might only make sense to me. But sometimes if I watch a movie or read a book, and I think about other ideas for other movies and books, I invariably just think of variations on what I just saw or read

I feel like the same thing goes on here, we talk about McDaniels, or Flores, or these other guys that we all know so well already

Do you know who looks like an amazing coach? Already coach of the year, and should be again this year, making his team a contender for the AFC on his fourth quarterback. Stefanski was out there for the taking. Find THAT guy

Kraft is such a goddamn ****y. You’re Bill’s boss not his fan. But whatever, it’s just a never ending series of moving the goalposts for him to justify keeping Belichick the last few years. Shi.t, a few weeks back right after the Steelers win the talk by insiders like Rapaport was “well if the team can win these last 4 games it might give Kraft pause on whether to move on from Bill” only for the Pats to immediately lose at home to a painfully flawed Chiefs team. So I guess that doesn’t matter anymore, as long as the Pats lose with dignity that’s good enough.

The Kraft/BB relationship is not black and white, bud. Kraft has to treat Bill like a future commodity, because he has value as part of the story of the franchise's dominance for the dynastic run. If Kraft throws out Bill, he damages his own brand. Luckily, Bill is a student of the game and knows this as well, so we should expect an amicable separation and not a firing.

I was incredibly impressed with him the first time I heard him speak.
Then when the Browns hired him I was like they got a amazing coach, motivator, strategist.

That’s the trifecta.

Ben Johnson, Mike McDonald, maybe the closest to this.

I remember on this board how much I said I was a fan of the McDaniel hiring for the Dolphins and everyone laughed about the hire.
I know a Wizard when I see one.

Or changes to the front and office and possibly coaching staff.

I could see Mcdoanld as HC and Mcdaniels as OC.
That pairing could work.
I also would throw a hc interview to Joe Brady.
He’s been impressive.

Oh I am convinced he won't be here in 2024.

Both of those guys seem like the right idea to me too

Let's hope Kraft is bold enough to do it. The guy has hired three coaches, all of whom have won Super Bowls (Parcells before the patriots, but you know what I mean)

I'm not saying Belchick can't come back and get it going again, but I really feel like now is the time for the next phase

Honest question…what has Mike McDaniel actually won?

Love his soundbites, and he is absolutely entertaining.

BUT…the Dolphins REEK of frontrunners to me, and we’ve seen this movie before where a coach looks amazing because of largely offensive talent, only to come crashing down later on.

He MAY be incredible, bit it’s a bit early to use him as a shining example until he wins and actual championship no?

Ben Johnson should be the guy.
Dark horse is Mike McDonald, guy maybe a young Belichick in a sense.
Dolphins ass OC and Brian Greise, should also get consideration. As should Rams ass coaches.
If they are moving on from Bill they should do a huge coaching search.

I personally would not prefer any ass coaches.

Just sayin'....

McDaniels is a smart guy but I think his doofus hipster vibe would wear thin around here pretty quickly, especially if he is not winning right away. Have you seen him on hard knocks, in season?

Pants rolled up to mid shin, no socks, sun glasses everywhere....buddy buddy with his players, fake f bombs everywhere.
At first I thought wow...cool coach.
After three episodes...he was irritating as hell.

I still refuse to believe that Kraft would bring in a coach and a GM with no history in the Patriots organization give two near-strangers the keys to the player personnel decisions that will likely cost Kraft 200+ million dollars over the lives of the combined contracts (free agents and draft picks). If Bill moves on, expect to see a couple of familiar faces in the offseason.

Adam Peters at GM makes sense.

honestly the longer Kraft doesn't talk to bill hes coming back IMO. they might sell bill on preparing for the "transition" and starting to delegate duties such as GM etc. McDaniels is probably back in an offensive role.

but I think Kraft is waffling here. and as long as the team fights the last few games Kraft will be too scared to fire him and watch him succeed elsewhere.

McDaniels is a good option. I think he'd be fine here, with the Pats system already in place and the team is far better off, in the long run, with an Offensive minded HC, rather than a Defensive one. It would be foolish to draft a young QB, only to have to chance OC every few years if he has any success.

At this point, my preference would be to retain BB and bring in McDaniels & Ziegler. If they can straighten out the offense, this team can be competitive very quickly.
