If we can't find one in FA or trade I think you have no choice but to take a swing for QB. It's why we went Mac and you can't let one mistake make you gun shy and lead to another so keep swinging.
QB is the most important position on the field. So, yeah.Pats fans are obsessed with a QB. « Can’t win without a QB ». Pfft.
SF is the best team in the league with Purdy - who is good, but hardly a first overall.
Allen is supposedly good : teams with better records going into this week - Indy with Minshew / Cleveland with Flacco / Cindy with a newb…
Hurts is a second rounder, Dak (who is horse crap today) was drafted in the fourth. Brady was a 6th rounder and Russell Wilson wasn’t taken early either. List goes on.
Who are the first rounders ? Mahomes. Awesome player. Herbert, overrated. Mac, Zach, Fields, Kyler Murray, Daniel Jones….
Allen and Burrows and Lawrence are VG but each has flaws, none are likely SB winners any time soon.
The Bengals got THE QB, then added weapons. Their O-Line isn't special, but Burrow works around them (while they can build-up the O-Line until it's much better). Brady has had some good O-Lines, but even when he had ones that weren't as good, he still got the job done. If you can get THE GUY at QB, then you do it!!! You're right. We have holes to fill, but having a Franchise QB who can survive a decent, but not great O-Line because of his talent and some weapons, will do while you continually build a better O-Line.Get your QB
Maye or Williams whoever it may be if you like them draft him
Then fill out your pieces accordingly
QB is the biggest need
This is why our most important signing this off season is a competent GM who can make these difficult personnel decisions work.I'm all for bringing in that Vet but who is it? It's slim pickings.

So...just draft a top three TE, draft/trade for a likely HOF RB, draft/trade for a HOF lineman. To finish up, draft two #1 receivers. On D, draft a HOF pass rusher & borderline HOF linebacker.Pats fans are obsessed with a QB. « Can’t win without a QB ». Pfft.

If we do draft a QB, we can’t leave him hanging with what we have now as an OL otherwise we’ll have another Mac/Zappe situation which no one wants.I don't think that is a good idea at all. If a stud QB is there you take him. It's alot easier to find functional OL than QB's.
It isn’t. But OL is usually a surer thing than QB. WR has recently (not by NE) been easier to gauge as well. There is also FA that can be an avenue to acquire talent.So...just draft a top three TE, get a HOF lineman, get two #1caliber receivers. Oh, and one of the top offensive minds/HC's in the game.
Yeah. That seems plausible....
This offensive rebuild is going to take a couple of years at least so I don’t see an issue with rebuilding the line first and then going after the franchise QB in the following draft. As others have mentioned, it's easier to find a good tackle late in the first or early second (i.e. Light and Solder). Trent Brown helped the Patriots win the sixth SB and he was drafted in the 7th round. If they can't get Williams, get one of the other ones. The guy might suck, but drafting a Tackle would just delay things even longer as we wait to find the franchise QB. They missed on Mac so swing again. That's where we're at. In addition to drafting a QB in the first, try to draft the next Brady in the 6th or Purdy in the 7th. Better than drafting guards, kickers, and punters.
You don't have too.If we do draft a QB, we can’t leave him hanging with what we have now as an OL otherwise we’ll have another Mac/Zappe situation which no one wants.
No, tough ****, if the Dolphins can get two firsts and 2nd for Tunsil and 3 1st rounders for the 3rd pick from the 49ers than thats what needs to be done. No more settling, the markets been set. They want a franchise qb or a generational wr? than they need to fork up.If OLs the plan we need to trade down and accumulate maybe a 2nd rounder this year and a 25 first.
I would still take my shot on a qb if there’s a guy on the board you think is special.
That was funny. Yeah, I mean, peanuts for CMC, why the Chiefs or Bills were unwilling to do that was beyond me. Deebo, Kittle, Aiyuk, best blocking fb Juszczyk, solid oline, top 5 defense. I mean, how are those guys winning?So...just draft a top three TE, draft/trade for a likely HOF RB, draft/trade for a HOF lineman. To finish up, draft two #1 receivers. On D, draft a HOF pass rusher & borderline HOF linebacker.
To finish up, find an elite GM. Pair said GM with one of the top offensive minds/HC's in the game.
Looks like the team is set after that

This rebuild isn’t a quick fix, we have to do it the right way to get back to where we want to be.
Now, if the Pats organization thinks one of these 3 QBs is a can’t miss guy, then by all means grab him…but I don’t think we should force a QB pick for the sake of drafting one because we don’t have a viable QB on the current roster.
This debate just illustrates how badly we need to hire a competent GM this off season…that’s the most important signing actually.
