Why cut him now after keeping him all this time? They just gave him some first team reps last week, now he’s cut? Will they just carry two QBs again? Will they try to sign Grier to the PS and elevate him a few games so he can be active without needing to be the “emergency only” guy? Or will Cunningham be the new 3rd guy? Or will it just be nobody? Seems like they have no plan at all.
Hmm let's see one went to SB.Outside of Brady, which QB drafted by Bill has become a GOOD NFL starter?
We better hope these Young QB's coming out don't pull a Eli Manning on the Patriots don't Draft me I refuse to play for you I wouldn't blame them. We bothed the QB position this year.
I haven't watched one of BB's presser post Brady they all suck.Bill's mishandling of the post-Brady qb situation alone argues for his being fired. Getting rid of Grier may well make sense, but if you examine the history of the team's qb's this year, - the utter lack of progress in finding a next qb - you can only conclude that Bill's either lost his cognitive edge or is so poisoned with rage or megalomania that he can no longer do productive work.
Up to now, I have felt sympathy for Bill's situation, but the smirky ******** at press conferences is starting to piss me off: basically he's just saying "**** you" to press, fans, arguably even the owner.
**** you too, Bill.
They had a guy on the Roster who was better than Both he's called Stiddy. BB's talent evaluation is off the charts the game has passed Father time by. I would take a 5th for BB right now show him the door. This is some weird ****. Why cut him now after keeping him all this time? They just gave him some first team reps last week, now he’s cut? Why would BB have wasted high draft capital on a QB with Brady at the helm? Even then, Garoppolo, Hoyer, Brissett have all had decent careers, particularly figuring their draft ranking.Outside of Brady, which QB drafted by Bill has become a GOOD NFL starter?
Jimmy probably hurt himself after You said that.Hmm let's see one went to SB.
Cassel, Garappolo, BrissettOutside of Brady, which QB drafted by Bill has become a GOOD NFL starter?
7 weeks to go. Then it’s take out the trash timeSo this year Bill has cut every QB he drafted/signed....except his 1st round talent Corky McNoodle....who he has benched 3 times.
There are dementia patients that make more sense than our septuagenarian Head of ALL Football Operations in NE.
Stid was not good either. Great arm but decision making as bad as Mac's at least in college and while he was in NE.They had a guy on the Roster who was better than Both he's called Stiddy. Cassell got a chance to start in 2009 on the Chiefs after he subbed in for Brady in 08. He had one good season over 4 years but aside from that was routinely mediocre having passer ratings on the year in the 60's and 70's and was constantly plagued by injuries. After those 4 years, they basically gave up on him as a starter.Cassel, Garappolo, Brissett
And it's quite unfair to judge a QB drafted by Belichick during the Brady-era based on their starting resume, given no matter how good they were (or could have been), they almost certainly never would have had the opportunity to start (in New England, at least).
dude, what about the semi-legendary Brian "Dr. Evil" Hoyer?Cassell got a chance to start in 2009 on the Chiefs after he subbed in for Brady in 08. He had one good season over 4 years but aside from that was routinely mediocre having passer ratings on the year in the 60's and 70's and was constantly plagued by injuries. Brissett is viewed around the league as a back up that is competent if your QB goes down, but he's nobodies first choice as a starter. He's 18-30 as a starter and never broke a 90 passer rating despite playing almost exclusively post 2016.
Jimmy G is the only real success story Belichick has beyond Brady. And he's incredibly injury prone. He's only started TWO full seasons since he's been in the league and that includes 7 seasons off the Patriots. He lost his job on the 49'ers because they decided they couldn't trust him to stay healthy and he lost his job on the Raiders after a year.
He's only played more than 6 games in a season twice is 16-25 as a starter and has an 82 career passer rating. Take that for what you willdude, what about the semi-legendary Brian "Dr. Evil" Hoyer.
That's in part because Pioli brought in a coach who didn't want Cassel as a starter. He made the Pro Bowl in 2010 when they brought in Charlie Weis as his OC, and then HC Todd Haley basically chased Weis off.Cassell got a chance to start in 2009 on the Chiefs after he subbed in for Brady in 08. TBF, they were upfront with Ventrone about this, and he was essentially the 53rd/54th guy on the roster.Bill's always been "different" in how he cuts people (personally, not a big fan of it). Exhibit A: Ross Ventrone, "Ventrone was signed, promoted, or released 21 times by the Patriots during the season, including eight transactions in November 2011." see http://www.bostonherald.com/blogs/s...hrough-ross-ventrones-28-career-transactions/
