10 things I think most of us can agree on at the bye

Neither of them were elite. What are you smoking?
You should ask yourself why you look upon the history of this franchise with such disdain. Sorry you weren’t a fan when we were collecting Lombardi’s. Hopefully we’re all around for the next one.

The people that think this team is "just" a player or two away from the playoffs are the same people who would argue N'Keal Harry wasn't a bust during his career here, or that the Sony Michel pick was great. This is a bottom 5 team and right now in week 10 probably the worst roster in the league. The worst part for me is, for the most part, the fans have been calling out the mistakes/missteps in real time. A lot of us knew letting Brady walk with no one else in place was a mistake. A lot of us knew the Patricia experiment would be a disaster. A lot of knew Bill didn't do nearly enough to address the offense this year. A lot of us knew that what he put together at tackle this year would come back to haunt us. These are just a few of Bill's recent decisions a good majority of the fanbase called out as they were unfolding in real time. This isn't a case of hindsight being 20/20. This is people who don't get paid to run a football teaming being more aware of the issues than the head coach/GM.
A player or two: a top 10 QB and a top 10 WR.

If we had that, we would simply sign our free agents, draft a top OT and be in the playoffs regularly.

Julian Edelman was not elite?

Gonna disagree with there.
That’s odd I seem to recall both of them consistently being the best players on the field during the playoffs and Super Bowl. I’m sorry if they didn’t satisfy your football fantasies.
And how did they get there? A bad habit on this board is posters think these players teleport to big games.

Edelman and Branch have never made a Pro Bowl or All Pro selection - therefore, they are not considered elite among their peers, media and fans.

Edelman has had 3 seasons where he barely cracked 1,000 yard and had no more than 7 TD's in a season. It took him 5 years to get going.

Branch never cracked 1,000 yards or had more than 6 TD's.

How did Branch do after he left Tom Brady?

Typical response from a poster when they have no argument. You have no idea what you're talking about.

You're the eternally hopeful fan. We haven't seen any improvement on the team since 2020. Looks like they've regressed. Don't want to hear about injuries. Other teams have same or worse injury situations and are doing much better. Anyway, one of Bill's supposed traits is that he builds a roster w/o top end talent but with good depth to weather injuries. That hasn't panned out.

I'll give you this much, you have been complaining through the offseason about the OL. The way Bill handled the OL is borderline criminal.
We have been in the playoff hunt for the past 3 years.

If we had a NFL OL to start the season, we might be in the hunt today. Yes, Belichick has been criminally negligent in his approach to the OT position. That is clear as McDermott has to come off the bench when Belichick's man can't survive more than a series.

So we want to blame BB for the bad picks, and call it luck when he stumbles into good players?
I said part of it was luck. No one could've predicted Edelman's developing the way he did. But I give him all the credit in the world for acquiring the rest of the players on that list.

How many rings do Larry Fitzgerald, Calvin Johnson, Julio Jones, DeAndre Hopkins, and Andre Johnson have? Call me crazy but it's almost as if football is a team sport.

Fitz and Jones came close if not for a couple of miracle wins but I get your point.

More stupid talk and hurts your argument.

Ah yes because your broken record of sound bites that only a bartender happily taking your cash would put up with are so full of nuance.

A lot of people forget that when Edelman broke his arm as a rookie in the Titans game, he was leading all rookies in receptions.

In any case, the reason it took him five years to get going is that after the 2009 season, the Pats drafted GRONK and another TE, and then acquired Danny Woodhead and Deion Branch to go along with Welker and Faulk. So at any point Edelman got on the field, he was almost invariably the worst pass-catcher on the field.

It's amazing you can't see where you ****ed up.

Brandon Lloyd as well in 2012. They signed Amendola with the intention to replace Welker in 2013.

He was buried on the depth chart.

Why are you trying to have a meta argument with me? We have six Lombardi's. BB did great things for many years. You cannot rewrite this franchise's success just because you think not drafting your definition of elite WR didn't happen.

How pleasant of the NFL to offer two ways to build a team, each with different risks.

You're going way out of bounds because you have no argument. Just let it go dude.

I'm not the one aggressively trying to end this, but ok. I'll leave it up to the rest of the forum to see how silly you look. I suggest you re-read your posts with a clearer head later.

BOB who was an OC in Brady's prime not being able to develop a QB on the Texans proves that.
Wait, what?!? BOB did a masterful job turning Deshaun Watson into a top 5 quarterback before Watson became a sex abuser
