But It's Not Mac's Fault....

Just dumb... the Saints tried to move up ahead of us to take Mac Jones and couldn't find a trade partner... but you think the Pats would have made it happen?

Just admit you hate Bill, so much that you're willing to argue Mac doesn't suck to get him gone.
Criticizing things the coach does once in a while just like any fan of any team is "hating Bill". Ok

I said the QB isn't very good and somehow you turned that into me trying to argue Mac doesn't suck. Weird.

Like I said yesterday it's clear in hindsight that the right call in the 2021 draft was for the Patriots to move up to grab Micah Parsons. He would have been phenomenal here with BB coaching him. BB would have enjoyed that.

Then take Davis Mills in round 2. Or if Mac is sliding down and he might have you can take him anyway.
That would require bold agressive vision. Bill has been extremely passive and reactive in draft approach for years. Instead of going and getting playmakers he waits for guys to drop…. But they haven’t

If you're here constantly making excuses for Mac then you're not admitting what the real problem is... again, you didn't bother to watch the highlights or dysfunction, your mind was already made up.

Highlights from yesterday's Commander's game ^

The weapons are bad, the blocking is bad, Tyquan is a bust, that's why Mac is bad... okay.

At 00:49 on 4th and 3 Mac overthrows Tyquan wide open on an in/out route... a sure TD with his speed. Watch that again and imagine if Mac throws on time. Tyquan is 6'2," runs a 4.2 forty, has a 38.5" vertical leap and 33 3/8" arms... his arms are ridiculously long, and Mac overthrows him... how? Because the one time Mac should throw a timing lob, he throws a bullet instead, only way off target. But it's not Mac...

At 03:09 on 3rd and 4 Mac forces his fourth attempt on a third or fourth down into Thornton, despite him being pretty well covered. In the meantime, at the sticks Gesicki is wide open for a first down. Next to him Demario is putting a stupid move on his defender if Mac is a little more patient... the payoff was large with maybe one man to beat behind him. Another terrible decision, but it's not Mac...

Here's where our defense forces a fumble near their red-zone, Mac comes out and throws a TD pass to his great TE Henry and we get the perception "Mac did some good things today." He didn't really, the defense did that and gave you a gift.

At 07:02 on 3rd and 10 Mac doesn't recognize overload on the left side of his O-Line where he has Conor McDermott instead of Trent Brown. Two guys flood and overwhelm the LT but no problem, Rhamondre is wide open under the sticks and Hunter Henry has the post route wide open... just make the throw, either throw... nope, Mac takes the sack instead. He fumbles but luckily his ass gets saved by a roughing the passer flag. But it's not Mac...

At 09:49 on 3rd and 3 Mac has Zeke wide open on a quick slant and throws behind him... but it's not Mac...

At 10:30 on 3rd and 6 Mac, in maybe the most egregious miss of the day, has multiple options to miss and does. Rhamondre running a wheel route out of the back field is wide open 20 yards downfield, Mac throws another Mac molasses ball special that takes forever to get there and underthrows Rham by a lot. This play is doubly bad because he also has Juju running free on a drag route route with a blocker in front of him ten yards away. But it's not Mac...

On the final drive Juju make back to back high degree of difficulty catches because Mac was putting them inches off the ground. Then Mac makes a questionable pass when he clearly doesn't have to on 2nd down and nearing field goal range to a well guarded Juju. There could/should have been a flag as Juju was being tackled well before the ball got there... either way it was an unnecessary risk that didn't need to be taken. The only reason the game was in doubt anyway was all the missed opportunities by Mac Jones earlier in the game, especially on third downs.... but it's not Mac...

In summation, Mac was sacked once because he didn't recognize two defenders overloading his backup tackle on his left side. His rushing game was kicking butt with his RB's average 6.9 yards per carry. His receivers were open all day for the most part, and Mac simply over or under threw them or missed them completely by having tunnel vision. The Pat's defense held the Commander's offense to their third lowest point total of the 2023 season and turned them over twice.

The real problem for the Patriots were the six offensive drives that lasted five plays or less that ended in punts... the highlights don't really showcase those drives.

Mac and the offense were 4-14 on third/fourth down. This against a defense that entering yesterday's games was ranked 29th in points allowed, ranked 29th in passing yards allowed and 32nd, dead last, in passing TD’s allowed. Oh yeah, and who just traded their best pass rushers Montez Sweat and Chase Young earlier in the week…

Again… if you’re defending Mac at this point you’re an idiot.

In summation... Mac sucks.

Stop blaming the O-Line, stop blaming the weapons... it's Mac. Mac sucks royally.
I’ve said all year, the problem is that Mac Jones doesn’t process what he sees ON TIME. Inaccuracy aside, he throws a lot of passes at the wrong time and/or to the wrong guy.

The OL improved in week three, they had to get healthy and did.
Did they improve? They were horrendous in week 4 and 5 when the Patriots got depantsed by the Saints and Cowboys. They still need a talent injection badly.
The weapons were good enough to put up the highest point total and third highest yard total the Buffalo defense has allowed all season... Mac tried to lose that game twice by turning it over but his teammates saved him from himself.
The Bills injury depleted defense. Yay.

Mac's weapons are fine.
Lol

Mac stinks, he's the same flawed player he was after the bye week as a rookie. And if you're not improving in this league you're getting worse, he's getting worse as opponents figure him out.
Like I said, all of these things can be true and they are.

The team is undisciplined, there's dysfunction everywhere and both were ordinary without talent.
Agree no question.
The name was given to him by another poster here which they will not come forward. Now someone in the media said the same thing.
Fair enough but the man still won 6 Super Bowls and is #3 all time in wins.

I'm not ready to cancel BB's entire legacy over the last 2 seasons of dog ****.

From my view BB is Tom Landry circa 1988.

Dysfunction is a coaching problem. This is a poorly coached team. Apparently I hate Bill so that's hating I guess.

I do like the strawman that I'm making excuses for Mac.

Mac is bad. The OLine is bad. Roster construction is bad. Talent is bad. Its all bad

The OL is not playing nearly as bad as people think. Once they moved Onwenu to RT, especially, it's been fine. McDermott at LT should have been a disaster, but they managed. Mac was not getting pressured that much. I really have a hard time giving the OL much flak right now.

And while they don't have elite receivers, the guys they have do get open fairly often. You can see it. They're just not getting the ball. It's not beautiful but it is enough to get some production - more than they're getting.

every QB makes **** throws and **** decisions...but it is compounded to the Nth degree when the head coach and GM picks skill position players who wouldn't come close to starting on another NFL team. Put Mac Jones on the Redskins with Dotson and Mclaurin and it's a different story

Did they improve? They were horrendous in week 4 and 5 when the Patriots got depantsed by the Saints and Cowboys. They still need a talent injection badly.

Like I said, all of these things can be true and they are.
A bad QB can make everybody else look worse... that's what we have in New England.

Dysfunction is a coaching problem. This is a poorly coached team. Apparently I hate Bill so that's hating I guess.

I do like the strawman that I'm making excuses for Mac.
"Dysfunction" is an umbrella term for something bad QB play explains entirely. The QB is a coach on the field, is responsible for so much, is the most important player in football... except Mac apparently, he's misunderstood.

Mac is bad. The OLine is bad. Roster construction is bad. Talent is bad. Its all bad
Video evidence doesn't jibe with "everything is bad," it simply doesn't.

The RB's almost averaged 7 yards per carry yesterday, Mac was untouched and had forever to throw, receivers were open. Mac was terrible.

Coaches don't play.
Players win games and coaches lose them. This is a poorly coached football team, something we haven't seen around here in decades.

Most important position on the field.

10 tds
9 ints
3 pick 6's

Two guys, Bourne & Henry have 7 of those 10 tds... thats not good.
Our offense has scored 20 or more points twice in 9 games... thats not good.
Has three (3) 250 yard + games in his last 20 starts.... had seven (7) 250 + yard games in his rookie season

I dont want him back here next year, unless its as a sacrificial lamb... taking shots while a rookie learns by not watching him

Pour what ever resources are required into acquiring the number 1 overall pick and take the best QB available.

At one point or another when assessing Mac 'we' (meaning ownership, coaches, fans = all of reasoning collective Patriot nation) have allowed for a 3rd offense in 3 years (if last year really had one is debatable), a crap WR core, a weak offensive line, poor positional/individual discipline around him and even communication style issues with his HC.

The end result of all the logic was a foundation of fallacy that 'reasoning' built. I can't speak for anyone else but it all gave way on me yesterday as I watched that game. Mac made very poor decisions, even when he had plenty of time and threw some absolutely horrific balls when he made the correct decision.

In short, he was the reason that game was lost. Period

Yeah I lost it yesterday on Mac's play. With the commentary being overly supportive of him while at the same time quoting him about his poor foot work while on the run. Hello, 3rd year in and you know you have issues and you can't correct them.
