OT: Josh McDaniels Fired

C'mon, you are going to tell me this guy isn't good with money? Just look at him. When I do, all I see is financial genius.

All I see is the love child of Moe Howard & Lucille Ball.

While it might be tempting to sign McDaniels, he is absolutely atrocious at evaluating talent, drafting, and signing FAs. The Patriots already have a serious problem in this regard and McDaniels would only make it worse. McDaniels can run an offense, but we would have to keep him far, far away from any personnel decisions; he makes BB look like a GM genius.

most likely will come down to how much does BOB trust McD? they have worked before and my assumption is that they could again.
McD would work exclusively with Mac and BOB would continue as the OC.
McD would be here for free, knows the system like the back of his hand and has a good relationship with Mac.
for McD would also have to take into consideration his family situation and if they would remain in Vegas while he is here, or would they move back here

McD would work exclusively with Mac and BOB would continue as the OC.
If Josh was the QB whisperer for Mac, and could keep Mac's head in the game, that might be invaluable. I think Mac's major issue is nerves and Josh might be the perfect guy to keep Mac calm.

year 1 we saw Josh sitting next to Mac on the sidelines exclusively.
the staff also had Schuplinsky working with him as the QB coach and Hoyer as strong vet support
year 3, Mac has none of that.

you look at the GM, HC, QB. all the staff including coordinators, the players...Meyers, Johnson, Dorsett, Wilkerson, Herron, Eluemunor, Hoyer, Bolden, Butler.
Thats a complete tear down of Patriots west for any incoming staff

The Raiders have a better record than the Patriots and they cleaned house. Just sayin'

There are coaches out there that have the gift/skill/ability of making a QB comfortable.

Gruden, Shanny, Shanny Jr, Andy Reid, McVay, Arians, etc.

Based on his time with Cassel, Jimmy J and Mac here Josh seems do well with younger QBs.

I think BOB is more creative and strategic with the play design but not a smooth people person. Josh is better one-on-one. Josh is not good with a big group, IMO, and that is why he is not a head coach. These guys have personalities like everyone else, and if used well the team will improve.

I believe that was Bo Hardegree who was QBs coach here in '21 and not Schup, who went with Flo to Miami after 2018... Your point still stands of course, because Mac doesn't have a 1-on-1 Whisperer here like he had during his rookie season.
