If this is Bill’s last season as HC, who do you want as a replacement?

Elway did a great job when he had Manning, but sucked after Manning retired. And a lot of the key players were already in place when he took over. Lynch is doing a good job, but he screwed up the Lance pick royally and got lucky with Purdy. Those are the only recent former player GMs I can think of. Of course there is Ozzie Newsome, but he was from a different generation and moved up the ranks.
Lynch and Shanahan are responsible for the Lance situation. Kyle makes the final call. They also screwed up their first draft with taking Solomon Thomas 3rd overall over DeShaun Watson and Patrick Mahomes. Then they took Ruben Foster late in the first round. They were high fiving each each other and mentioned they won the draft. This is actually a true story.

They then rejected Tom Brady in 2020.

Follow that up with trading Buckner and taking another mega bust in Kinlaw.

During the 2021 season when they were 2-4, there rumblings from the media that they were going to get fired.

While they have whiffed on some high picks, they saved their asses by hitting on Bosa, Aiyuk, Samuel and landing later picks in Kittle, Fred Warner, Dre Greenlaw and now Purdy who got them to consecutive NFCCG's. Finally, trading for Trent Williams who only wanted to play for Shanahan as their core players.

************. You wanna fire a legend in the middle of the season. Good god no.

Bill will not be fired. Ever. It will be a resignation
Bill wanted to get rid of Brady even though he was still a winner, whereas Bill has been a loser for four years now. Why should he be treated any differently than he treated the GOAT?

We don‘t know if Brady can do the job. Being a great QB doesn’t necessarily mean he can scout great talent or put together a team. He might be able to.

Elway did a great job when he had Manning, but sucked after Manning retired. And a lot of the key players were already in place when he took over. I think Brady could excel because he doesn't have the same ego as other great players.

I could see Brady surrounding himself with guys that understand analytics and are cap guru's. Brady has never made it about himself so he would gladly take advice from areas he himself is not an expert in.

I also see him getting guys to sign for less than market value. Brady set the standard for taking less than market value in order to have a better team. When he asks a guy to take a slightly less than market contract they might listen because he has done it.

Brady is also a cultural icon. He helped turned the laughing stock Bucs into superbowl Champs and everyone within the organization, outside of Brady, attributed it to him.

Unlike Peyton, Brady is a natural leader who has inspired his teammates to be better.

As far as evaluation goes, Brady thought Johnny Manziel was a turd before he ever took a snap in the NFL and he was spot on

I know he’s flirted with an NFL return in the past just not sure how serious he is on leaving Michigan but Jim Harbaugh would be on my list. No super bowls or natl titles yet but he’s still been a consistent winner at every coaching stop.

Jim Harbaugh would be my pick too. Him and Drake Maye....oooo I can just imagine it...

I missed that. What did he say about him?

Someone that knows how to put a decent team on Sundays. My main focus is the GM first then coach. Both important but the GM needs to get the players so that the coach can put a solid game plan together.

Get BB and anyone ever associated with him as a coach as far away as possible from this team.

Someone that won’t Treat our offense as an afterthought is a good start

Someone from outside the organization so all the assistants are gone too.

If Bill goes, I want his kids going with him.

Thanks for a great run Bill.

Brady chose to leave

Better than the best ever? Not likely.

Deion Sanders? Ok you’ve been moved into the category of nutcase, I’ll ignore your opinions from here on

But hey maybe if Deion isn’t available we could hire a Kardashian, that would seem to meet your criteria.
Get Swift! Instant media darling Patriots.

Look at bills drafts since 2015. It's pretty bad. 2010-2014 were amazing. Since then 10 years of mediocre drafting. And that's why we are here

And one thing you will notice is how few draft picks were for investing in the offense.

Defense is important. But in 2023 to ignore offense as much as they have is just malpractice

Not a single player on this team from 2018 and 2019. That's bad. Means no one you drafted was a future piece like we drafted in the early days.

Bill knew the whole team was done by 2020 because everyone was leaving and we were going to take all the dead money and dump it into that year. Brady was already upset with 2019, imagine him playing with even LESS!!?

To top it off, Brady met with the Dolphins owner on his yacht, which was sprung onto Brian Flores, prior to the 2019 season. WHILE he was still a Patriot. Realize that these are adults and they make moves for their careers accordingly. I don't blame Brady one bit, but maybe consider he had already contacted the Dolphins with 1 year left on his Patriots contract.

The Phins actually lost a big draft pick for that move.

I feel like 98.5 has permanently warped this board

I've been watching Drake Maye. He makes me extremely nervous.

Throws off his back foot a lot. Has one of the longest windups for a QB that I've ever seen.
He's Drake Maybe for me at this point.
