We know what Mac is. Forget the meltdowns of the last 2 weeks he still has plenty of upside on the right team but there’s reason to think this particular team as constructed will never give him a chance to see that upside. Would be a really good trade piece if the Patriots want to move on. I’m not convinced they should unless the Patriots find themselves in position for a top QB prospect in April.

We also know what Zappe is. Zero upside and already proven to have no trade value but if a tanking team wants someone to just play out the string then he’s the choice.

Grier is a total unknown to me. Could be a surprise more likely won’t but we’ll see.

Cunningham is dynamic but flawed as a passer. So was Lamar at the beginning. All teams also passed on him for a reason. The team still thinks he’s a gadget QB and WR for some reason so not sure he will ever get a chance.

Most likely the true heir to Brady is not on the roster. Welcome to QB purgatory folks it’s not fun.

Yes and Myers also was a QB.. thier have been a few guy's over the years on the roster that were converted from one position to another. Malik is still a raw athlete.. he's no wear near reaching his full potential.. he can just continue to develop and learn the NFL as best possible.. he'll add muscle and adapt his body to the NFL. Lamar actually said Cunningham was faster than him in college and broke his records. He was being coy likely. As a pocket passer I'd rather see what Grier can do. As entertainment value Cunningham.

You also seem to forget we saw Cunningham play QB in the final preseason game, so did the coaches, which is why they resigned themselves to his conversion to WR.

FWIW, Lamar did not run the 40 at the Combine or his Pro Day. He only ran it unofficially at Louisville’s “Speed Day” and was timed around 4.35 IIRC. But who knows how reliable that is.

No, your emotional need to replace the guy who made you sad is not an answer he because neither of those guys can play.

I mean don't 7th round draft picks sign 3 year deals? But given how NFL contracts are not typically guaranteed it really means nothing.

It means that Malik was willing to give the team an option on 3 years rather than only one. My guess is that the bonus would have been about the same.

I suspect the teams seems him as a possible #2 QB. Hopefully, Zappe will be cut on Monday or Tuesday.
