I considered making a new thread about it, but didn't feel post-worthy. While they are on track for a high pick that could net them one of the top QBs, I am also coming to terms with the fact that this team needs a hell of a lot more than just a QB to go anywhere, even if that QB is great. Look at Carolina this year - they traded away what is currently the 1st overall pick this year to go get Bryce Young and they're 0-5 because their roster still sucks and Young can only do so much.
So, I think maybe (and it kinda sucks to say but it is what it is) the right road, especially if Bill stays, is to acquire a veteran at QB and use your picks and cash to overhaul the roster. When I think about it, getting Kirk Cousins would do a lot. He's a veteran, he's a leader, he can bring some stability, and while he'll be more expensive than a rookie, he's a free agent in 2024 so maybe you can get him for a decent price from Minnesota this year and extend him now. Then you can keep that high pick and get your tackle of the future, or trade down a little with a team that's chasing a QB and get a #1 WR plus other good picks that you can use to plug the other many holes on the team that you didn't already fill in with your fairly high amount of cap space available in 2024 onward.
Just a thought. It seems like the quickest way to get the team pointed in the right direction and back towards becoming a "contender", though you're still without a long term QB. However you can just keep drafting dudes later til you hit, you can draft 2nd/3rd round QBs or trade up into the late 1st for a guy with upside. Rodgers went 24th, Hurts was a 2nd rounder.
I watched the whole video. That is totally false. Most of the passes were thrown to guys with plenty of separation (1-2 yards). Most of the tight windows, and there were only a handful, were on throws to Gronk in the center of the field. He was pretty decent TE and Brady would say that he was lucky to have him. What's crazy is that half of those receptions in the video were on less than a yard of separation for the receiver. Pats fans have been spoiled.
I don’t think Cousins would be that costly at this point, but ok. I detailed in the rest of the post about improving the “**** show” with your other assets so it’d no longer be a **** show. Agree to disagree I guess. Thanks for your kind input.Thank you for bringing up the most disastrous scenario of all.
Yeah, lets bring in the highest paid looser in the history of sport who cant win with top weapons.
Lets pay him top $ all nicely guaranteed and throw him behind the ****show here. Should work like a charm.
The worst thing about it is that the ****show and BBs MO make this nightmare all too real..
So, please. Dont. Think. Please.
Thanks for calling me out. Yup, it was more like 5 out of 13, with one very debatable - the Hogan one because his initial separation was significant, but it ended up being about a yard when he caught it. He was the fastest and 2nd fastest Pats ball carrier in 2016 at 20.78mph and 20.68mph.I watched the whole video. That is totally false. What I was thinking (other than “Less than a yard of separation? What the hell is he talking about?”) was how unfair it was for the Pats to be able to roll out both Gronk and Bennett at the same time, before Gronk’s injury). I was also struck by Hogan’s ability to separate, even on long bombs, despite not having elite speed.
I guess when you put it that way…If it took until week 6 to implement things to help the OL then BOB is not as good of a coach as I thought he was.
I would like one.

Cousins has 2 winning seasons in 6 years with the Vikings and he's gotten a HC fired. I wouldn't say he's very stable. You look at his stat lines and you think the Vikings won the game, only to find out they lost. Nobody puts up more empty stats than Cousins.Thank you for bringing up the most disastrous scenario of all.
