So are the QBs winning or the OLs : )

Note that this is a very small sample size. You have some OLs playing 3 average fronts and others 3 strong fronts.
f.e. Pats OL playing quite tough DL schedule. Then there are schemes, calls, situations etc etc. Its not as straight they'd want you to believe.

Also note that these are very subjective grades by diverse army of noname evaluators (f.e.PFF). No disrespect.

Still, it does paint a picture.

Unlike we here at Patsfans? At least the scouts PFF employs actually grade every play by every player. How many here even grade Patriots players?

What am I to make of this. This guy is a professional at what he does. Analyze QB play at the NFL level. He just spent 19 minutes showing me why I SHOULD be pretty encouraged by Mac's play in the rain against a quality defense. I just don't don't know who to listen to. This guy or the one noters

At any rate THIS guy should have his own thread and IT should be 18 pages long, not the crap like Nut-gate and other felger like minutia. Could a monitor take this clip (and others like it) and put it in a thread for people to watch and comment on.

BTW- another neat thing to look at when you go through it a 2nd time is to watch the protection, the good, the bad, and the ugly. Overall it didn't suck, but Mac does make some really good throws with people in his face and if I hadn't seen it here, I wouldn't have know about it.

Ken, there is already a thread called "Xs and Os Chaulk Talk" started by @PP2 each week. @PP2 does a great job of posting various tweets with analysis in it. I am not sure if the QB Guru clip is in that thread or not. Check it out. PP2 does a great job each and every week.

yeah I saw it last week and loved it, but I didn't see it when I scanned the front page. Maybe I missed it, But clips like QB school and others like it can be VERY informative and cut to the chase of what is happening by people who might understand the game a little better than the average though informed fan we have here. They have a habit of putting things into perspective and more importantly CONTEXT. It helps people see how interconnected things are.

A clips page with commentary from fans would be great regular feature that should be pinned at the top of thread so people more adept than me for finding things like that can add to that week's "library" I also wouldn't hate it if that thread had our team's PFF scores. Even though they sometimes very subjective, they are a good starting out point for discussion. And as I think on it a good box score for the game and not the ESPN one with is rather short on info. I want one with penalties/ydage and 3rd down percentages too.

With a thread like that, at least there would be a place to go and JUST discuss football, the game, what happened and what we can expect moving forward. In other word, nirvanah

I had thought about posting the QB school video in PP2's thread but I can't see his posts. I don't know why but his posts are the only ones I can't see. Therefore I didn't want to post something on there that he may have posted already.

I'd like to see Carl Davis back after his mature and rare comments following his release. He's more similar to Ekuale - and I correctly picked Ekuale as making it over Davis, but in the short term to fill a backup PS spot, why not bring the guy you have history with and knows the locker room.

Ekuale's strength is interior pass rush. I think Sam Roberts can adequately fill that role. I'm more worried about a run stuffing replacement for Godchaux.

I'd love to have Carl Davis back in that role this week.

I liked Davis sit role in NE and liked they kept Eku on 53 but maybe this inj could be a “blessing“ in disguise . meaning more White in general (only 18 snaps last Sunday) and more White inside in particular which would be significant upgrade imo. No need to keep the young man down. That would also mean more Uche esp if he can handle edge setting or more speed vs run in general that will be necessary vs Pollard.

Some things PFF do are pretty subjective, but pass protection is much less so - they can objectively measure time to pressure. Now of course they aren't saying whether the pressure was because the OL screwed up, the DL was great or because the QB didn't set the protection correctly, but from the perspective of judging QB passing this is as good a measure as you are likely to see.

(The single worse measure from PFF is passes allowed by a corner - no allowance for whether the corner was playing off and allowing a short completion, whether it was third down and the catch was stopped short of the sticks, and so on).

Ian has fixed the problem I was having (Thank you Ian)!

I've posted the QB school video on his X's+O's thread. Hopefully I'll be able to contribute more in the future. It's a great thread, very informative! PP2 does an excellent job with it.
