Tyquan Thornton Having a Tough Camp

We need you, Tyquan. Stop having soft flesh. Make it hard!

The whole league passed on Pickens, some teams did it twice. And what WRs were jerks in the Harry draft?

The whole league passed on every player taken in the 2nd round onwards. What's the point of holding a draft that continues past the 1st round if that's your rationale?

Pickens was a STUD there for the taking and Twiggy Branch was another MISTAKE pick by BB. Making the wrong decision at the same position WR, over and over again, year after year, is NOT justified by your stated logic which isn't even logical.

Now is it possible that Pickens somehow runs into legal trouble like Jack Jones that potentially derails what is looking like a very good career?

Yes it could happen. I mean it happened to our own player! But if BB is willing to take character risks on guys like Jack Jones how does that JUSTIFY passing on Pickens? It doesn't - it points to a double standard. You can take a risk in the draft as long as it doesn't EXPOSE the mistake made in the drafting process which brings us back to Branch - will he amount to anything more than a hill of beans? Very unlikely given the pattern of early-injured WRs almost never panning out with the Patriots.

The point with Pickens is that they all knew he was a helluva player, that's all everyone talked about; they passed on him precsiely because of his attitude.

When posters on this board can evaluate draft prospects better than Bill, there's a problem. Pickens is the latest WR many posters were calling for during the draft and disgusted when Thornton was taken over him.

Bill is on a 13 year drought of drafting an Pro Bowl/All Pro player on offense. He's supposed to be the best. No excuses.

A lot of people wanted Deebo and AJ Brown over Harry as well. Same as last year a lot of people wanted Dawand Jones and they drafted a backup center in the 4th.

Did AJ Brown interview with Bill? If so, he probably let Bill know that he grew up a Pats fans and wanted to play for him.

Greg Jennings and D'Angelo Williams were also infuriated the Pats passed on them back in 2006.

2006? Too funny. Dude, you are living in the past. Regret, remorse. Let it go.

You are misunderstanding what I wrote. It was in relation to wanting to be picked by the Pats. Those were the only ones I knew of that were upset.

Has nothing to do with me.

On Pickens; no one on this board knows what Tomlin and the rest of the team may be putting up with.
Boutte and Douglas should have been playing beyond their mistakes. They'd have a couple of games under their belts that would help them and the team improve. JuJu and Parker limping after this loss is a GOOD sign to me. Let the youngsters develop. I still think Thornton has a place in the team's future, but he should be way behind the rooks by the time he comes back.

Tough camp??!! He suffered a soft tissue injury during OTA’s and was rehabbing that before he could start camp. Then he made a good catch against the Packers I think and hurt his shoulder ending up on IR. Yeah, I guess that would qualify as a tough camp - actually didn’t he end up injured during his rookie camp and started that year on IR? He’s two for two in the tough camp category - one more and he’ll tie Ronnie “where’s the field coach” Perkins…

But hey I heard he interviews really well, and I bet he'd be a shoe-in for the Olympic Flag Football team.

At least that rugby player from Ohio State was a 6th-rounder.
