Alright, so let’s just cut through the circle of back and forth ******** and get right to it.

Do you guys want to extend Mac Jones with a franchise QB contract or go in another direction?
Yes. A bird in the hand and all that.

That is unless they go like 5-12 or something.

Nope, not a franchise contract. I would definitely pick up the option but they should be in acquisition mode after this year. I hate to see a team tank for a QB but if this team is at 3-7 at the bye the best thing for them would be to pick in the top 5 and have a shot at one of the top 2 guys.

So why have scouts at all? Just go by college stats and combine performance. Easy!
Scouting is not the same as some netizen showing off his singing anus. Scouts are embedded in a rigorous (if proprietary) system. Read Belichick's dad's book.

Go back and look at yesterday's game paying attention to the snap count. AND watch the Dolphins time the count each and every time like it was a home game. No offensive line is built to stop a freight train. And this isn't even the first game Mac was like this. He was like this all year. It is a regular thing. We aren't prepared for a modern NFL game, not the way other teams are prepared. And the look on Bill's face when Mac audibled from a run up the middle to that stretch play... well, it told me he doesn't have great confidence in Mac doing that sort of thing.

How's Ken O'Brien's QB rating these days?

How do you know what Mac audibled from and to eliciting whatever look on the coach's face from your TV? Please stop with this. What you think you've identified as a "problem" is not a problem, you're just chasing your tail here. Do both of us a favor, google "Mac Jones cadence" and see what that shows you. The "freight train" has nothing to do with his cadence, it's a patchwork journeymen/injured OL with no time together to develop chemistry or continuity. Mac deserves credit for what he has done to this point while remaining upright.

I don't know what Ken O'Brien has to do with any of this. Like it or not, QB rating is a collective statistical assessment of performance.

They gotta get creative. Trading down and out won't bring in that level of talent that's for sure.
Trading up is near impossible unless you're already up there. No one wants the #20 pick in the draft for a move up to #6.

The Patriots admitted that no one would take a trade for them this year when they were offering a menu of picks to get back into the 2nd round.

There was just no interest. After Gonzalez, the 1st round tanked with the exception of Zay Flowers, who probably had size concerns

It's 4th and 1. Every time they needed a yard, they got it. They went straight ahead.

Tell me what are the other possibilities given what we saw with the success they had during the game (2 QB sneaks, 2 runs for 1st down).

How in the world are the Phins timing the snap perfectly with running starts each and every time? You could hear Mac. Hike, snap. That's it.

That's not for me to figure out what kind of draft pick package another team will accept. But I do know trading down lowers your chances of getting top tier talent.

Here, phone the Patriots with this information: (800) 543-1776. You just might save the season. Personally, I blame those damn red jerseys.

It all depends, doesn't it?

The first round grades are gone quickly.

Go look at the 2022 1st round. My god, the tears. Remember we had people wanting us to take Kaiir Elam, a 1st rounder who is a fringe practice squad player. He never dresses.

If you don't see the grades and you trade down, you may luck into a good player simply because you're taking 2 or 3 of them instead of a 1st who should be a 2nd.

Tyler Smith is the exception, he would've been worth it, though Dallas got blasted for reaching for him. But Quay Walker? Kaiir Elam? Devon lloyd? Devonte Wyatt? Daxton Hill?

Can I also tell them that their players should be more ready for the next game so that their 265 pound LBs don't get knocked around by 150 pound pipsqueaks like Tyreek Hill?

You didn't answer the question, by the way.

If the play wasn't to do what they did the other times they got 1 yard, why do you think Belichick was so disgusted?

Well I think it is safe to say that it diddnt take much to have the worst of everyone’s habits, biases, narratives and tics come out

Sure. That probably is something else they never thought of.

You can't always trust what you see on TV, maybe he had gas.

If Mac is the#1 issue name me a QB who can win with this offensive roster. When parker/Bourne are your #1 receivers

An OL that can't block and a non-existent running game. This isn't to cut Mac any slack but it's not like if we somehow put someone else in there all of a sudden the OL would block, Rhamondre would run for more than 3.5 per carry and parker/Bourne would suddenly be getting open at will like all pros.

We are losing because bill neglected offensive talent on offense. Everyone saw this coming all year. Now people are surprised and blaming Mac for all their woes.

Could very well could be. BB did wear the dreaded red hoodie which is a portent of doom.

That all lies on Bill the GM's poor draft history since 2014. The only Pro Bowlers/All Pro's he's drafted since then were on special teams. That eventually catches up to you. Bill was at his best when he had Pioli and Floyd Reese.

"Never" is not true. Bill has been in position to trade up of take talented players for many years, but passed on them for a feel good player that he can "coach".
But not without mortgaging the future. Take the 2021 draft....Mac was the correct call at #15. The only way we would have done better is to trade down for Fields or Lawrence.

So far this defense hasn’t shown that they can pressure anybody… Especially a team with a good offensive line!
Our pressure is fine, IMO. The Eagles have one of the best OLs in the league and both Hurts/Tagovailoa were getting rid of the ball quickly.
