JETS SUCK 2023 EDITION (JOKER CERTIFIED): HARD KNOCKERS

Such observations are not heresy. We readily recognize when they play well, which is bound to extend from regularly drafting high. The overriding fact is that Jete suckage transcends whatever is happening on the field at a given time.

If they sold the franchise, changed the name and moved it away from New York, perhaps the JETE might start not to suck, but with this ownership and these fans it will suck whatever the talent of the players.

Tom Brady’s sustained excellence really made everyone ******ed on what you should expect from a 40 year old quarterback. Two weeks ago everyone was pumped to hear he was going to “play until he was 45, like Tom,” and now they’re all cursing their General Manager for guaranteeing big dollars to a 40 year old quarterback lololololol.

Yep, a few years ago everyone wrongly assumed that Rivers, Roethlisberger and Rodgers were also going to be fine into their early 40s because Brady was doing it so it must be the “protected qb” or something along those lines. Brees made it pretty far but injuries and rapid decline were visible. The age curve for QBs remains roughly the same as before, despite what Montana thinks. There were also guys in the 80s and 90s who played into their 40s and most franchise QBs hit their wall then, as they do now, around age 35-38.

When accounting for the many snaps, I think most impressive are Brady, Moon, and Favre.

I know this is heresy, but-the jets have an excellent defense. They also have really good backs. If they play conservative offense and are able to minimize mistakes by Wilson, they would still be a competitive team. There are certainly a lot of ifs there but don't write them off just yet. We couldn't score an offensive touchdown in Foxboro last year and they are better this year.
If Breece Hall stays healthy then they’re probably still a 7 win team, or around there. They also have good receivers and obviously the defense is very very good. But a **** tier OL paired with a mentally impaired 2nd string QB can only take you so far.

Agree totally. Rodgers was brought into a team that he really was incompatible with. Aaron wants to hold the ball and improvise, but to do that you need an OL that can pass-protect, and da Jete don't have that. Bim is a meathead, rah-rah kind of guy, wants to see smash-mouth football not improvisation that is Rodgers's calling card. It's a fundamental mismatch.

One has to wonder why A-a-ron would want to leave GB in the first place, because he had those things there...

Unless Goodkunt & the HC were tiring of his act...
