JETS SUCK 2023 EDITION (JOKER CERTIFIED): HARD KNOCKERS

Why? A stiff like him will get killed behind the Jete OL.

Maybe they figure the only way to get a few decent plays out of McMilfson is for him to come in after a vet gets taken off on a cart?
Flacco only needs a few more credits to get his PhD in 'throwTheBallToDrawPassInterfence'ology.

Like you said though, he'll get murdered behind that o-line. Hopefully he signs with someone else.

Agree. That's why McMilfson is still around, Douglas can't/won't admit he made a mistake.

Meanwhile as @Brotherblues just posted, SF cut their losses with Lance even though they had made a huge investment in him.

Douglas quickly dumped Darnit because he was the last regime's pick.
I was referring to their commitment to Rodgers. They'll talk themselves into it in the hopes that he is their savior. Here's another $33m, please save us. We don't care if you're going to be 41. Please. More? OK, here...

I know this is heresy, but-the jets have an excellent defense. They also have really good backs. If they play conservative offense and are able to minimize mistakes by Wilson, they would still be a competitive team. There are certainly a lot of ifs there but don't write them off just yet. We couldn't score an offensive touchdown in Foxboro last year and they are better this year.

No, but he's played for the Jets.
True he has worn that slime green uniform under a different OC, but he also has shown that he's old, immobile and can't get it done.

It doesn't matter. No QB that they bring in now is going to turn that ship around now. It's Punky's team now.
In conclusion, the Jets are screwed.

The best upside of that for da Jete is they finally get to the point where they too realize they have no choice but to move on and stop pumping Punky up to avoid being called out for drafting him.

Here's some pushback...

They've already tried and failed to be conservative on offense and minimize Punky's mistakes last year and could not get that done. If they could have, there would have been no need to spend cap and draft assets on Rodgers and the players they brought in to make him happy, they'd have gladly allocated their resources elsewhere.

One thing we know about Hackett's offense is that it's complex and not everyone succeeds in it (ref: Russel Wilson last season). When RW was failing they tried the same thing, dumb it down and get the QB comfortable, but they could never get that to happen.

Conservative offense and strong defense hasn't gotten it done in a long time. People say it was the 2018 Patriots but if you look at most of the regular season games we scored a lot, it was mainly SB LIII that was low scoring. The Trent Dilfer data point is really old, and Dilfer was far more competent than Punky is.

Tom Brady’s sustained excellence really made everyone ******ed on what you should expect from a 40 year old quarterback. Two weeks ago everyone was pumped to hear he was going to “play until he was 45, like Tom,” and now they’re all cursing their General Manager for guaranteeing big dollars to a 40 year old quarterback lololololol.

Such observations are not heresy. We readily recognize when they play well, which is bound to extend from regularly drafting high. The overriding fact is that Jete suckage transcends whatever is happening on the field at a given time.
