Pats working out Ian Book [edit Pats signing him]

Reading the draft profiles on him, I can't say I understand how he was drafted so high. Short, lacks arm strength, lacks accuracy...

Book rookie debut vs Saints highlights

Definitely not an NFL level arm but kinda mobile I guess. Deep dropbacks like Mac used to do.

Book is about 2 tiers lower than JAG.
I'm thinking Edelman with this guy.

Ian Book is short, by NFL QB standards, at 6'0" but he's tough, smart, and an excellent athlete. Played lacrosse and football in high school. He is older (took a redshirt year at ND, and played while a graduate student on the Covid-19 added year of eligibility.)

He adds another layer of depth at QB, but I think he's a Belichick/O'Brien guy who could appear in several roles.

Probably because he led Notre Dame to 2 CFP semifinals and won a ton in general despite his supporting cast (except maybe Claypool who only played in one of them).

Of all the guys out there that they could possibly sign as a quarterback to the practice squad, this is the guy that they sign? This is such a Bellicheck move.

Read the cliff notes on this…I wouldn’t check it out.

Probably just trying to get some insight into the Eagles offense…
