It's simple the Pats need another arm to run drills and play on the scout team. You will be doing Cunningham a disservice making him spend time on the scout team except in special situations. No one is looking for Book to play (if he's signed to the PS. They just need him he a practise arm

Before the 2021 draft started, he was my throw a dart at a wall blindfolded guess as a Day 3 QB pick who might have some success in the league. Looks like that was a giant miss. I was surprised he was picked as high as he was, though (4th Rnd).

Maybe but I think they would have made a change in the off-season if that was the case. It’s probably something else… either performance related or needing another arm.

It's the practice squad. We signed a pizza guy to it last year. This way they get them in, run them through a practice or two, see what they've got and bounce them if they're no good.
