We all remember the “Patriots are the least likely team to win a Super Bowl anytime soon” PFW article from 2001…and how that season ended.

Guess what…it’s happening again! Deja vu baby! Fire up the duck boats we’re going all the way!

Might have something to do with Mac's 32nd ranking in "arm talent"
(Probably why the Hail Mary was whited-out on the play sheet)

Overall ranking: 23rd

This trade value assessment for Mac looks about right for anyone coming off a dreadful 2022. That would be called selling low anyway and that’s not great business.

Whoever this guy is obviously has an itch towards New England and the giants. My outlook on the season isn’t great either for either team (predicting 8 wins for us) but theres zero reason to lump them both in with those teams other than some personal grudge.

I heard The Athletic's NFL writer Mike Sando being interviewed on SiriusXM's NFL channel last week, and he holds the Pats in similar regard: NE is one of only 4 teams in the AFC - Indy, Houston & Denver the others - whom he gives No chance of making the POs... Dude's neither a Mac Jones nor a Russell Wilson fan, he made that fairly clear.

You can’t compare the 2001 team to the current NFL. That was a different era where teams were built differently. There are way too many teams now that can hang 30+ points on you on any given Sunday.

Just take a look at all the top defenses in the NFL last season - they got bullied playing competent QB’s/offenses.

In this era, you need an offense to balance the defense because they will crack.

Again with the ridiculous exaggeration of Brady's 2001 play and incidental disparagement of many great players and coaches.

If you think Brady played like a once-in-a-lifetime QB in 2001, I don’t know what to tell you.

Brady may not have been incredible in 2001, but he led game winning drives and actually played pretty well given the talent around him on offense that year.

Edit: you may not view it as "once in a lifetime", but NFL fans REALLY take for granted how few QBs can lead game winning drives with consistency, including MULTIPLE TIMES IN THE PLAYOFFS, especially with mediocre receivers

He played way better than Bledslow.

Consistent QB play and clutch QB play. Once of the announcers said that Brady was an Anticipatory Passer and Bledsoe was a Reactionary Passer. Spot on the money.

Brady's arm was not weak either.

You would hear the same analysis of him during the season which was “the ability to process information quickly”.

He certainly wasn’t lighting it up, but he showed up in critical moments….uh like the last drive of the Super Bowl which John Madden didn’t agree with.

It was night and day different with Brady in 2001.

Just like Zappe last year when the Bambino went down. The offense actually functioned.

How many game winning drives did Brady lead that year? If you can prove that you and the other Brady forgivers were doing nothing but praying they could hold on for each game they played that year, including the playoffs, then you can start posting stupid **** like this.

We wouldn't even have been in the first Super Bowl if it wasn't for Belichick. In fact there are quotes out there of Brady admitting that we were lucky Drew took over, because Pittsburgh was starting to figure him out and he didn't know what to do.

BB held his hand from the start and he turned on his coach in the end, just like all the other diva QBs. Don't believe me, try and tell me how his Miami fling was the best thing for the Patriots.
