There's a lot of unknown there with him, for sure. I think for me, IMO, an OL can function really well if you have four good starters and your fifth guy is decent and consistent. You can scheme a line around one guy who's not ideal, it's when you start replacing two or three guys that you start to see some fatal flaws. So again, assuming Brown-Strange-Andrews-Onwenu are healthy, I think Anderson can be good there. Depth will depend on how quickly the rookies acclimate.
I agree. I also agree leaving Onwenu at guard is best as well. Not sure why people think moving to tackle would help. That rarely works out. Usually you just weaken yourself at two positions instead of one.

Last week if you had asked me I would of said as long as those four are healthy and playing we could get by with Sow at RT. Well obviously Bill didn't agree with that assessment and went out and got two more tackles.

But as of now it appears it will be those four and Anderson at tackle, maybe platooning with one of the other three until he is ready to play the entire game.

One thing is for sure around 7:30pm Sunday we'll have some idea of which way this Online is trending. If they hold their own against that front look out if they get **** on...oh boy. Obviously week 1 isn't end all be all by any stretch but can't really ask for a better barometer than the best D line in football.

Yeah, there will be some emotional knee-jerk for me during the game, but I'm going to do my best to remember that week 1 is usually unpredictable, and this year against one of the best DL (and teams) in football. So looking bad while the OL gets its feet isn't a death sentence, but looking good doesn't mean they're Super Bowl bound. Just hoping things look more cohesive than last year to start.

Phillthy is well aware of the Pats' OL issues. Even a great OL would struggle vs. their pass rush. They don't need to blitz to passrush effectively which should help vs. the Pats power run game.
So what do we do?
Obviously, our OL needs to be as solid as possible, a tall task with so little time spent together.
Mac needs to get rid of the ball quickly.
So which receivers get open the quickest?
1. Bourne
2. Douglas. Yeah,he's a rook, but he gets open quicker than anyone besides Bourne
3. Henry
4. Juju
Parker has had a solid preseason but I don't see him getting a lot of targets in this game.
Rham and Zeke will catch a few as well.
I trust BOB to come up with best offensive game plan he can vs. Phillthy

I think at this point Kraft should feel confident in the direction of the organization. Obviously we want the Pats to make the postseason, but if they end up missing it due to a slate of tough opponents, I doubt Kraft is going to say "you didn't make the playoffs again, you're out Bill!" The preseason has shown a coaching staff that is much more stable and professional, and I think Kraft should feel confident that they're on a good path even if this specific season might be tough. Plus, he knows Bill probably isn't gonna stick around more than another few years at most before wanting to hang them up, and there's no guarantee that the next HC will be better or even as good. It makes sense to try to give the Bill-BOB-Mayo coaching nucleus a couple of years at the least and re-evaluate.
Why should he feel confident??? They have not played a single game and did not impress in preseason.

God, I can't wait for Sunday! Pissed that we are playing in the 4:25EST window..... I love those 10AM PST kick offs...oh well...

Gonna be wild seeing Tommy at the game.....

A productive RPO game can beat a pass rush. Some toss sweeps will help too.
Yeah I expect to see that factor as a big part of the game plan. Making quick decisions, fast reads and throws. I doubt they will go deep often but can probably keep pace if they can find a little success running the ball and short passing. Get rid of the ball before the defense can even get close to the QB.

Winning percentage without Tom Brady 51-65 0.439

painful but true
Who cares. Chuck Noll was 102-105 without Terry Bradshaw.

Take away a great QB from a great coach and suddenly the coach isn't as great until he finds another franchise QB. We all know this.

What makes Bill great was what he did with Tom after he drafted him. You dismiss that as lazy and comes across as agenda driven.

There are teams that move very quickly to fire HQs and teams that give them a lot of leeway, such as the Steelers and Ravens. I think Kraft envisions the Pats in that company. But who knows?
IMO BB is they type of coach you don't Just fire.. I believe his as entrenched in the legacy of this organization, and in the NFL as Lombardi and other greats. I believe this season is all about the eye test from RKs view. How does the offense look? Are we in games until the end? I know moral victories don't equate to anything. We've lost the past 2 opening days. If we can win Sunday this could propel the team for the season.
