It's easy, and only takes a few moments.Totally just forum speculation at this point as people are trying to predict the cutdown to 53.Is this Forum generated speculation or is there actually some substance to this?
I did.. are you the moderator ? or a poster that chimes in whenever you feel like it. My post was geared toward certain topics like I said.. thank you have great day!Wait, you posted this yesterday
Just don't comment if you don't agree that's all!
So which is it?
Did you see the 1st team offense against Green bay?Mac looked solid? 6/9 62 yards no touchdowns no intercetions 82 qbr. With mostly the ones on offense, and the best o-line at the time. Woohoo here comes Canton.
Yes, I watched the game. Didn't they score 3 touchdowns, oh wait never mind. Mac looked ok. Zappe is the backup and played with many players who won't be there tomorrow, Mac didn't.Did you see the 1st team offense against Green bay?
Was the O line good for Mac? Did Trent Brown have a false start? Did the right side of the line with Mac look good? Ok then.. maybe a need a new TV I don't think my 80 inch is good enough anymore..Yes, I watched the game. Didn't they score 3 touchdowns, oh wait never mind. Mac looked ok. Nah, I think it's a good conversation. It just got a whole lot bigger for the other thread.Damn, didn't meant to start a whole dialogue on it. Was just some off the cuff speculation.
Name another team who needs to upgrade their back up who would put a claim in on an undersized, noodle armed QB. He was never as good as he was perceived to be last season, and he's CERTAINLY not a better prospect for the back up role than ANY of the guys that have been listed thus far. Come 4pm there will be better QB prospects that will be cut than ZappeHe will absolutely get claimed
He happened to play on TEAMS that won gamesThis. He won games as a rookie in the NFL with that offense last year.
And part is due to the fact that he does not have nfl skills. Can not succeed by having a weak arm, short, stature, lack of mobility or elusiveness and poor ball securityHe looks terrible. Part of that is due to a **** line and the other a new system.
That's not necessarily true. Just 2 years ago Mac and Cam were pretty split on reps. But Newton was still taking first team reps, and starting the first series of preseason games, and we all thought Mac was going to be slow-played into the year. But they straight up cut Cam.From what I get regarding Mac vs Zappe from Evan Lazar last week on PU was, and I am paraphrasing, is that throwing deep, they are pretty similar. It’s on the medium and short throws where Mac has been separating himself. He has been a lot more consistent.
In my opinion, it’s hard to evaluate Zappe because it’s hard to quantify the impact of having to throw almost all camp to guys that probably won’t be on the roster with the 3rd OL since with all the injuries the 2nd OL was with Mac vs throwing to the 1st receiver.
Zappe has thrown almost the same amount of passes as Mac this camp. They wouldn’t have done that if they didn’t like him. I have a hard time seeing them cutting him.
Mac is just STARTED his third year. He only has 2 years experience and one of them was an unstable offensive situation that regressed his performance. More like getting a babysitter for your 9 year old. Mac isn't so far advanced that he couldn't use an experience voice in the room. This is Mac's third year, adding a veteran backup would be like getting a baby sitter for your 13 year old...
I'm not going thru the other 31 teams. Bottom line is he has won in this league. Most backups have not.Name another team who needs to upgrade their back up who would put a claim in on an undersized, noodle armed QB. He was never as good as he was perceived to be last season, and he's CERTAINLY not a better prospect for the back up role than ANY of the guys that have been listed thus far. The ONLY thing that will save him here is that he knows the language and the system, any new guy will need a few weeks to become even slightly set to run an actual offense. But if Mac can stay healthy for a month he'd be OK.
OR maybe Cunningham makes the switch to full time QB and the question of who is the 2nd QB is already on the team?
Its not a great deal if he sucks.800k for a backup QB is a steal. Press on with zapper for next 4 years.
Yes he does. He's completed 70% of the 92 passes hes thrown for 5TDs and has won 2 games. That means he has NFL skills. And part is due to the fact that he does not have nfl skills. Can not succeed by having a weak arm, short, stature, lack of mobility or elusiveness and poor ball security
Blaming his crappy preseason completely on the makeshift OL is oversimplification
Re Wentz- A combination of chronic injuries and reports like this about his attitude and maturity probably didn’t help.Mac is just STARTED his third year. BTW- Seeing Wentz's name on that list is SOOOOOO puzzling to me. How can a guy go from looking like a MVP canidate to start his rookie year, to a guy who couldn't get invited to an NFL camp. There HAS to be something more than JUST his playing ability to this story. Is he a bad guy? Is is collosolly dumb? It has got to be something wrong here. Anyone know what it is?
Sounds like he was even struggling with fundamentalsRe Wentz- A combination of chronic injuries and reports like this about his attitude and maturity probably didn’t help.
