Can the Line hold up?

Bedard on Steuber:

Andrew Stueber: Just isn't there with speed or strength. Hard to see him hanging on this roster.
But changing his body composition will help him a lot. And if the tackle position suffers another ding, he’ll be needed.

Can you imagine starters Reiff at LT and Stueber at RT?

Still think Onwenu might have to move out to RT.

Montgomery might be a good player to stash away and return mid-season when Demario is banged up and we need someone who can fill that role.
Yeah.. this is the 2nd year in a row he's hurt. I like what he brings, and he was having a good camp as reported. Just some players are injury prone. DD is probably the fastest.. well next the Marcus on our team. This kid is special he has to make the 53 right?

I think he stays at RG.. he's a road grader. He likely starts on PUP. All we need is decent line play, and this offense can flow.
I'm just hoping that Onwenu will be ready to start at RG for Game One.

McDermott or Reiff will start at RT.

Seen as how he's been on the PUP and hasn't participated in camp activities.. he's likely to start the season on PUP.. so it's the best 5 to start week 1...

It is also a big potential strength. Brown is capable of being a stud. Onwenu is a good G. Strange making a year 2 jump could be one of the top Gs in the NFL
Andrews is an underrated C. RT needs to work out but worst case is McDermott who played decently at the end of last year and certainly wasn’t a liability.

Historically the Patriots OLs are greater than the sum of the parts because the system is good at hiding and accounting for weaknesses and leveraging strengths of the OL. With BOB here I would expect a huge improvement in than dynamic.
Definitely agree, I was wondering when someone was going to make mention of Andrews.. he's been one of the best centers in the league. Brown has shown he can be a dominant lineman. He was an absolute mauler in 2018. He punished DEs and LBs and Brady did not have to worry about his blindside to much that season. If Trent can be any portion of the player he was then we are in great shape this season. I still believe we will draft a Left tackle in the 1st 2 rounds next year.

Only one preseason game but at this point I don't see anyone viable/reliable emerging at RT.

Brown/Strange/Andrews/Onwenu is more than fine.

If Reiff continues to look out of place and no one else emerges (he and McDermott are nothing more than backups) they'll need to trade a player where they have a surplus at the position or a pick for someone who can start. The player needs to be a starter, serviceable, reliable and not get Mac killed every 6th drop back.

They MAY have more safeties and WRs than they need. Need a few more practices and games to be sure (and no one gets injured) before Week 1 comes along.

I thought Reiff didn’t play.

Well I think we know that blurbs from practice especially about lineman are not a very detailed evaluation.
He’s been an effective player for years. I’ll wait to see with my own eyes in real action.

OK

Can the Line hold up??No! with those marginal back-ups.

Their starters aren’t even good enough.
I think that's what the masses is forgetting. People were trying to put that scrub Conner McDermott in Starting line-up. I hope last night was revelation for them if we get to that guy the season is over he can't run block neither pass Block for more than a second good luck Mac Jones.

Mac Jones would look worse than last year those guys are weak.

I was a little shocked that we couldn't even run block. #63, Hines I believe, stood out in a negative way.

He's absolute garbage.
