Yet another Brady argument thread

Worse quarterbacks on that list made more money in 2020 and 2021. The patriots would’ve gotten a dominant qb for a middling qb contract. FACT
So what you are telling me is the market for something is not what it sells for but how you think it compare ms to other things?

This is another example of why you get things so wrong.

Tom Brady’s market orive was established by Tom Brady being a free agent. Factual, real, actually happened.

And you are arguing his market value is higher than that because someone else got more and you think he value should be higher. It’s not, no one paid him that.

It’s not a “report” it an article (no writer name I saw) of speculation and opinion.
Lol

“They made it clear before the 2018 season when — instead of the extension he’d been trying to extract — he was given some incentives to hit in order to sweeten his salary.”

2nd credible beat reporter who said this exact same thing, just in this thread!

He was the 16th highest paid quarterback in the league in 2020. Is that a good deal or bad deal, let’s put it this way ring

Nope, I said for a player his caliber, his deal was a bargain. Factually. He was the 16th highest paid qb in the league and he put up mvp caliber numbers 2 years straight. That is the opposite of a crippling deal.

So your argument is that the tipping point for Brady was he wanted to be paid for not playing the second year?
That is laughable.
Why can’t you get over the fact that numerous reports confirm that Brady wanted a long term commitment?

No matter how many times you call Brady stupid, it doesn’t change that is what he wanted. No idea what your post even means, since I didn’t mention him getting paid for not playing.

It’s a crippling deal when you don’t have a roster around him that can win if you don’t put that 50 mill into it to improve it.
You just keep talking in circles.

You telling me they chose to not sign him because they “couldn’t afford” to build a team with a middling qb contract, doesn’t help your argument

46 of the 50 mil was to Jonnu and Agholor, definitely put it to good use, how is the team even functioning at this point?

I’ve never called Brady stupid. And I’ve pointed out to you more than once. The characterizations you make of Brady are stupid. They are also not true.

If Brady wanted a king term deal why did he sign for 2 years? The patriots also offered 2 years. Now tell me how 2 years is longer term than 2 years. I guess it’s because his biggest fear in life was not being able to get paid if he didn’t play te second year right? That’s your argument, huh?

I’m telling you he left. HE chose to leave.

This is exceedingly more difficult because you don’t understand the salary cap.

Characterizations in which described by many reporters. Player wants to play as long as possible and to control his destiny. Patriots want team control too mitigate risk. Don’t be dumb

Tell me how the patriots didn’t guarantee him multi years, the guarantee in multiple years give the team less control over his destiny. Are you not understanding that or willfully ignorant?

He chose to leave to save the patriots in their rebuilding process? Odd logic to say the least

He chose to leave because he wanted to leave.
The consequence of that is that it worked out better for the patriots.
Are you really having that much trouble understanding the discussion?

You’ve said I wanted the patriots to not sign thuney in 2020 and then resign him in 2021. I think you’re the one who’s having trouble here, given that came out of Left field

Wrong, characterizations made up by you. You made up that Brady left because the second year was guaranteed. You made up that he left for a long term deal, disproven by the fact he signed a 2 year deal. I have no doubt he wanted a long term deal, why wouldn’t he. Characterizing him
as leaving to get one and failing is you.

The second year guarantee is as meaningless as something can get. Brady didn’t care about that.

No I did not. I said you wanted to not sign him in 2020 so you could have the same amount of cap space to rebuild the entire team in 2021. I guess I need to spell things out like you are 4 years old?

WHAT?

Is 2 longer than 1? He immediately got an extension after year 1. He played til 45 last time I checked

So you agree the patriots never offered him one. Glad we are on the same page. Definitely sounded like the team wanted him

“Brady didn’t care about that” despite all evidence showing he did

Let’s go back to your comment that 46 of the 50 million of cap space for 20 and 21 went to agholor and smith
I don’t think you understand the cap.

What do you think the 50 million I was referring to represents?

“Basically your plan takes away Thuney from the 2020 team then add him back in 2021 while many other players are leaving.”

How was I supposed to interpret this?

Guaranteed money, which is 4$ more million than what Jonnu and Agholor got. Again, easily extend Brady, just like the Bucs did and his cap goes to 10 mil in 2021

You made up that guarantees were the reason. You’ve repeated it 100 times.

You said both offers were 2 years. Getting extended after 1 year doesn’t mean it was a 3 year contract, you said he left because he didn’t want to have to wait to get extended.

Neither of us have any idea what offers were made, that’s kind of the point.

Nothing shows Brady cared about the guarantee other than your blathering
As I’ve said if it was about the guarantee he would have said that when Kraft asked.

WRONG.
50 million is the cap space in 2020 and 2021 Brady would have taken up thereby reducing the cap space the team had to rebuild.

How much of that do you think agholor and smith took up?
