Yet another Brady argument thread

He signed contracts in 2010, 2013, 2016, 2019. Suddenly he was unhappy for years?
If the player doesn’t want to stay there is nothing you can do. He literally told them no matter what they do he is leaving.
He asked for long term deals after the 17 and 18 seasons, he didn’t get them. Way to fight for the player you “want”
Conveniently you dismiss that with he was butt hurt. If all it was was guaranteeing and he wanted to say he would have said Bob, guarantee 2 years.

Back to rumors. Ugh.
You’re insinuating here that you know that he never told the team what he wanted. For 3 years. Good grief are you a hypocrite

He would have stayed if they had offered him a long-term deal. But Belichick finally decided to make a tough call and obviously, it sucked given who he was and everything he did. But it had to happen eventually and the hit would have been tougher if they hadn’t ended it the way they did contract-wise.

However, it obviously worked out for Brady, so whatever.
I actually think Belichick would have kept him until he couldn’t play. He just needed to do it wisely so he wouldn’t cripple the team when it was over.
it’s funny the argument comes down to the belief that what Brady cared about was getting paid for years after he could still play. That’s so not Brady.
Why would he care about a guarantee. It’s only useful to pay you for not playing. He never doubted himself. It’s the red herring in all of this.

Your logic here is thinking that 2/50 gtd is a crippling deal for a quarterback, it’s really a red herring in all of this

But yes; why would Brady, who has said he wants to play til he’s 45 numerous times. Want a guaranteed deal that assures him that. Good grief

Nope, I’m again consistent with the reporting, which you clearly ignored all these years

Prove it
Show me any reporting that says Brady was mad at the patriots for years and signed a slew of contracts he didn’t want to.
That’s your claim that you say is consistent with reporting.

I can prove it beyond a shadow if a doubt.
53>50

It is when the 50 crippled you from rebuilding a damaged roster and you are paying it to someone who will be too old by the time you rebuild.

Show me the details of the deal that show he was going to see all 53 of that.

If that is your belief; blame the team. That is WAY below market deal for a qb of his caliber

Since reporters tell you everything you must have reports of the contracts he asked for all those years before signing ones he evidently hated.

Kraft said what will it take to keep you. You think it was “guarantee 2 years, I don’t want to leave”. Brady said “nothing”
Facts. Asked what it would take Brady said he won’t stay under any circumstances.

If he stays for 2 years, by definition he makes 53 mill.

If that is your belief; blame the team. That is WAY below market deal for a qb of his caliber
No it was the market. He got one offer for 2 years and 50 mill.

It doesn’t matter where you put “fault” it’s a fact. Paying Brady 50 mill would have severely delayed a desperately needed rebuild.

And I am happy they got in that situation because it was the result of the greatest run of success ever.

“If” doesn’t sound like you guarantee it
Player A signs a 2 year contract with no guarantees for 53 million and completes the 2 years
Player B signs a 2 year guaranteed contract for 50 million

Who gets paid more money?

For HIM. HIS market, given everything about him
was 25 mill a year. That is indisputable.
Worse quarterbacks on that list made more money in 2020 and 2021. The patriots would’ve gotten a dominant qb for a middling qb contract. FACT

Player A signs a 2 year contract with no guarantees for 53 million and completes the 2 years
Player B signs a 2 year guaranteed contract for 50 million

Who gets paid more money?
Show me the structure of contract A and still you cannot guarantee he plays a 2nd year. It’s a hold up you cannot get around

Also nice if you to skip right over the report you asked for. It aligns with the previous screenshot I linked you from Howes report. So now you have 2 in this thread with the same info. One from Curran, and one from Howe

It’s not a “report” it an article (no writer name I saw) of speculation and opinion.

So your argument is that the tipping point for Brady was he wanted to be paid for not playing the second year?
That is laughable.
