Bedard - Pats NOT IN on lamar Jackson....

Condolences, hope you're able to work things out.

A statement like that lays bare how little you understand.
Or how much Hmmmm.

Stop his old boys club nonsense.
He wasted an ENTIRE year by having judge and patricia royally **** up the offense.

He wasted a year of mac
He wasted a year of his offensive skill players
He forced his year 2qb to learn a new offense that ABSOLUTELY sucked
He allowed two absolute coaching failures judge and patricia to rip mac in the media via "sources"

Zappe looked great when he came in because they called a COMPLETELY different game plan when he was in on offense. It was absurd.
Last year was one of his worst coaching jobs as a patriot. INCLUDING the years when the team was below .500.

Yeah, I still fear that Belichick is just running out the string waiting to get to Shula's record doing the barest minimum to achieve that goal. Even Bruschi has said that he doesn't know this Belichick and he isn't the Belichick he played under.

one of the things i ask myself and wonder about
in a 17 games season belichick must have realized early enough that the offense was a ****show
why did belichick did not take over control and did the game plans/coaching by himself?
or does he need to be involved so much in the defense? because mayo is already being considered as a HC by other teams so i guess belichick does not need to spend all day with the defense when we have mayo and steve b

He has often said that he believes that it's worse to do that kind of dramatic change mid-season, rather than wait until the season ends.

Of course this is one of those debates that will never be settled.

More than you realize, obviously.

I'd pass your message along, but I don't work for the dysfunctional Patriots organization.

Just do yourself a favor and don't leave home Saturday. Or answer the phone. If the doorbell rings, ignore it. Best avoid the Internet as well.

how long have you followed the Patriots? Do you think BB is going to give up multiple 1st rd picks...and then give Jackson the biggest QB contract in the history of the NFL? Did you really think that was a possibility? I'll take Mac Jones and an actual offensive coordinator going forward.
For 30 years.

I thought that times change with any business models.
Previous to Brady our other standout QBs have come as earlier draft picks.
Bledsoe being number 1 overall.
You have to be aggressive in this league it’s a new NFL.
The game is changing the politics are changing the way front offices allocate and build teams are changing.

If we stick with what we did to paraphrase Bill for 25 years if you don’t evolve in business you die.

Way too much involved with trying to install a new offense after the season starts. There just isn't enough time to do that and prepare for the next opponent.

i am not talking neccesarily about install a new offense just change play calling to bb, game planning, working a lot with the oline and qb...stuff like that

Bill f*cks around sometimes and sometimes it doesn’t work. Last year the Patty Judge Show didn’t work.

Exactly .. we were spoiled with Brady. That's not going to happen and chiefs are lucky with Mahomes and kelce being healthy always . That's not gonna sustain for long.

Last 8 superbowls - Brady (4), Mahomes(2) and solid teams(3) with decent quality play ( Peyton, Stafford and foles)

So now with no Brady and kelce becoming a bit more older ,it is going to be more evenly spread out.

If we need a qb , he has to be as good as mahomes, else a Brock Purdy with 6 pro bowlers on the Team can still do it.

Joe burrow, Herbert and Jodh Allen still have no rings ... so we need patience folks !

The probability of us winning superbowl is better by retaining those #1 draft picks and drafting some difference makers as opposed to building a team with lamar with minimal talent and risk of injury.
LIsten, we have a faction of fans who are basically going nuts because we haven't won a playoff game in 4 years and only been to the playoffs twice in those 4 years. Now I don't blame those fans particularly, the previous 2 decades were filled with biannual trips to the superbowl and seemingly every year in the AFCCG. A bit of hyperbole on the last part, but with NINE superbowl appearances in 19 years pretty damned close on the first point.

So they are a bit spoiled. We all are to a degree. Its that "degree" that is often the sticking point. Maybe its a symptom of the times. "I want it, and I want it NOW. And if I don't get what I want, I need someone to BLAME". Sound familiar?

But it just occurred to me that there is ANOTHER franchise, which has had relative success in the league although not nearly to the level that we've seen here. They are a respected organization, that has had a strong FO and a long term HC. THEY, a lot like us, have endure a period of FIVE years without a playoff win. And during this time have been led by the SAME QB that some of us so desperately want to acquire a the cost of a $50MM/yr contract, and TWO first round picks....at least. And to what end?

MAYBE, and that's a big maybe, you have a 2-3 year window where you can compete in a REALLY tough division, and even TOUGHER conference in the hopes your team gets enough bounces calls and plays to win a superbowl, when you KNOW through hard experience that you DON'T always get the call, bounces, and plays that win you a superbowl. Just think about how close we have been to losing or winning them, or just think about just how close the Bengals have been the last 2 years, and the Eagles last year, etc.

BUT adding Jackson means you DON'T add $20-30MM in talent each year, you lose 2 high quality prospects that add talent and keep costs down for a time when you are lucky enough to hit on a first round pick. The point being you just don't add a player with a perceived value as Jackson in a vacuum. There are consequences as well. Just like there are for any player....to a degree.

So to make a short story long. Should we be REALLY invested into getting a QB, as individually talented as he is, but hasn't had any more success in winning playoff games in that 5 years he's been the Ravens QB, than we have had in 4 years with Brady, Newton, and Mac.
Just say'n

I have no idea what you’re saying or what that gif is about. Honest. I was just sharing friendly concern about your welfare come Saturday.

Jackson compensates for "loses in talent" elsewhere. That's what elite franchise quarterbacks do. Nobody can have everything. It's matter of how and where you want to invest in your roster. With an average QB (like Mac) you have to build Rome around him to win. An elite franchise quarterback you can surround with Detroit, MI.

It's starts with the QB, so the closer to the top you are at that position, the better off you are. Brady and Mahomes have appeared in 8 of the last 9 Super Bowls and won 6 of them. That's not coincidence.

The players in the NFL today are not Bruschi, however. It is a different world.

To the topic at hand, I think the biggest ting going on right now is Watson's contract. it's no secret that many in the NFL were pissed at Cleveland for doing that - they don't want fully guaranteed contracts with a hard salary cap, or at all.

Would not surprise me if Jackson gets nothing until he drops that demand. The NFL owners do not want to surrender their power to the players, and a guaranteed contrac tis doing just that.
