If folks haven’t actually read his article, I suggest you go back up and read it, Quite touching in my opinion.

I agree. Beautiful and well done.

A great player.

Another great dynasty player. Definite Patriot HOF player.

"The January Man" "Mr February"

I loved watching Hightower play. You could tell that he just had that magic. That, in the clutch, he'd be the one to make a play and turn things around on the defense. The fact that he wore "54" with Bruschi's blessing and that they both ended up with 3 rings is pretty astounding.

Here's hoping that the symmetry continues and the next great Patriots LB to wear 54 brings the same level of intensity those two did.

Thank you, Zeus!

He took the mantle from McGinnist and got 3 of his own. Just seemed whenever they needed a play he came through.

We can talk about Malcolm Butler missing The Philly superbowl but some forget that Hightower and Edelman also didnt play in that game. Yep injuries are part of the game and always will be but I can’t help but think his presence would of been felt in that game defensively in the clutch.

Great career from one of the most clutch Patriots players ever. Thanks for the memories.

It was amazing that he made the huge plays that they could not have won 2 Super Bowls without. The goal line stop again Marshawn Lynch that preceded Malcolm Butler’s interception that won the Seattle Super Bowl, and the 3rd and long play against Atlanta that gave them a chance to win the 28-3 Atlanta Super Bowl. He really was Mr. February. One of my all time favorite Patriot’s.

The best.

Thank you Zeus!

One of the rare 1st round picks Bill took that I liked in the 1st round.

Regarding his Super Bowl tackle: I just saw a clip on YouTube of Bobby Wagner talking about why he thinks Lynch didn't get another carry when they got to the one yard line in the Super Bowl and he thinks it's because the coaching staff had a grudge against Lynch. He talked about and showed a clip during the year when a similar situation happened at Arizona where Lynch ran it down close to the goal line, but when the play came in, Lynch is seen to be upset and flips off the sideline before the play is snapped. This goes in line with what others have said that the coaching staff favored Wilson and tried to make him the hero.

I truly couldnt imagine of thinking of another player wearing 54 other than Bru, but Hightower truly became the first player I think of when I see the number 54!! Thank you for allowing me to cheer you on all these years!!

Much as I love the draft there are only a few times I have gotten their first round pick right. One was Jerod Mayo, the other was Hightower. I think that makes me 2-23 in the Belichick era.

A great Patriot....

Needs to be in the Pats HOF, Stat!

Him tossing aside a 300 pound lineman to make the tackle.....

I always think if 28-3 and the role he played

Talk about a guy who made a difference.

In the 4 SB's he was with the Patriots, the 3 he played they won and he was a big part of it. Against the Eagles he was missed just like any resemblance of a defense.

Thank you champ for all you did for us as fans. Seattle and Atlanta don't happen without you making plays when it mattered most. Head to the tailor and get fitted for your red jacket.

Was about to say that had Hightower and Jules (who was out for the whole season If I recall correctly) been good to go that evening, the Pats would have likely threepeated, and the Butler decision would have consequently been viewed as either a curious historical footnote that came up here and there, or as one of those risks that never backfired.

At least Banta Cain was pretty good here...

Butterfingers Woods was OK vs the run.
