Player Signing Jonathan Jones Stays

That's a lot of assets (money AND high draft capital) to spend upgrading the secondary when there are huge holes at OL, WR, and they only have one professional TE on the roster now. I don't disagree though, that's a GREAT group if they can swing it AND get the rest of the holes filled.

I have a feeling that this off-season will be about loading up at some spots while leaving others bare...e.g. I don't expect us to upgrade massively at WR because of what is available out there....but I think we will spend money to re-tool the defense to be sure it is still STACKED with talent.

GREAT news! He was #1 on my list of our own guys to resign. But we still need to add SIZE to our CB's. No more 5'8 - 5' 10 guys trying to cover 6'3+ guys on 50-50 balls.

For all the impatient folks who believed that BB was doing nothing, a lot is gonna transpire in the next 72 hours....

Happy Jones is back. I think he's is helpful against the smaller faster receivers like Waddle and Hill. We still need a bigger boundary corner to push Jones to the #2 spot, but this is a good start.

I bet other teams valued him at slot only money, so no reason for him to leave.
Agreed! Sean Murphy-bunting is my choice.. he could fulfill that outside corner role along with jack, and allow jo Jones in the slot where is excels at.

Interesting idea... move jones to free safety? could that be a loss for the cb's? Unless jack jones is able to step it up in year two...
Well I've posting the idea of Jo Jo to FS for several years now here. Maybe it will happen. IMO Jack will be a very good CB1. This would allow M. Jones to play the slot where I think he is fantastic.

Two years is the perfect length, he could possibly slide into DMC’s FS role if need be.

They still need to address the need for a bigger CB. The Bucs are in cap straits, they should go hard at both of their free agent CB’s and come away with one of them.

Who are they??

This is what comes from being a 6x SB champion dynasty. Hometown discounts.

Love to see him back. Especially since Jack Jones situation might be in the air..
given how they moved on from Bailey, and we've heard no peep about Jack Jones, i'm hopeful that the issue between them has been ironed out

Win-win. Glad to see this.

I had made mention that Jo Jones played at safety alot during the Gilmore years.. in 2017, 2018.. he can play safety/CB.. the guys so versatile and he is an excellent blitzer... the hit he put on Goff in the superbowl when Flores called the corner blitz is another example...
