Dolphins freeing up a total of around 50 million in cap.

Why haven’t we reworked any deals reportedly to free cap.
Depending on how this off-season goes we could be cellar dwellers really quick.
Really quick or already??

That's interesting and I thought we were the capologist. The league have definitely caught up and passed us by in many ways.

There’s no benefit to restructuring in advance. They will do it when they actually need the cap room.

Well we do know Bill likes to go fishing, so I'd say he's still the best carpologist in the league.

Eventually you have to pay the bill.

to begin with, they were 16± Over the cap... so they had to clear cap space regardless... so they clear a bit more... i like that they are locking themselves into bad deals, limits their flexibility in future years...

This. The Patriots have more than $300,000,000 in cap than the Dolphins do through 2026.

Some folks are fine with the cycle of competitor, cellar dweller, rinse, repeat. Some are not.

The Rams are a good example.

yeah? what are the dolphins winning? You think that they are going to leapfrog to the the top of the AFC by clearing the cap? They dont even know if they have a healthy qb...

and pushing all the chips to the center of the table has helped exactly who? the 2021 Rams you say? who else? who does this and actually wins it all besides the one off rams squad?

Who else? The 2020 Bucs. Wasn't this board whining in 2020 over how the Patriots had sold their souls for the 2018 title and had absolutely noooo alternative but to put together crap rosters in 19/20? So I guess we can put that one on the list as well. Which would amount to 3 of the past 5 Super Bowl champions.

3/4 of that Bucs team was built thru the draft... all the important bits - the defense, the receivers were already in place were they not?

2018 Patriots? what moves were made to create that gap by overspending? The best signing was Trent Brown. The best receiver they picked up was Josh Gordon... remind me, did he play in Super Bowl LIII?
