BB THE GOAT

Parcells was a builder. His drafts helped create Dynasty 1.0 here. He also made the Jets relevant in the late 90's and I don't have any positive things to say about how he did that but he did.
If life provided two vocations, he would have been a mountaineer.

Parcells always enjoyed the climb instead of the view.

We had 3 last year and needed all 3.

2000 was strange. We had Drew a year from FA (which made things uncertain for a bit), John Friez and Michael Bishop. That lanky kid from Michigan showed just enough to stick around......
Yeah.. I can't seem to remember who that kid was? .... lol

I don’t think he was a builder at all. I think he was a win now guy.
He left the Giants in the toilet. He had little to do with the dynasty here, he was gone 5 years by the first SB.
The Jete didn’t win anything with him, or after him. He didn’t build anything in Dallas.
What he was expert at was taking a doormat and making it competitive but after NYG he rarely won in the post season and f-Ed up the 2 best shots he had.

the 10 year period @crawhammer mentioned
Wait, you jumped in to argue this and you don’t even know what you are arguing?
Why would a patriot fan jump into a discussion with no facts solely to try to diminish OUR coach who won 6 championships here?
Why?

Parcells was a builder. There is no disputing that. He always got out at the top of his stock price.

George Young ran the show for the Giants. Parcells wanted total control and the Maras weren't going to give it to him.

He was also very opportunistic. He took crappy situations so if the went bad there was limited detriment to his posterity,

At his core, Parcells was a narcissistic control-freak.

Parcells had a 500 record with the Giants and Patriots, until he hired BB to be his defensive coordinator/asst. head coach. Within one season of the hiring both teams were in the Super Bowl.

Oh yeah, BB was also the Giant's LB coach who worked out and signed off on Lawrence Taylor... he drafted Brady, Seymour, Gronk, Mankins and on and on and on... but he's bad at his job.

The crew telling you this are the Jerry Jones of sport's fans, Jimmie Johnson wasn't responsible for the rings... Jerry was. That's why Jerry won so many rings after Jimmie left, anyone can do it.

Laughable...

There was a time when BB was King of the World.

Virtually every move was gold.
2001 through 2019 with the exception of the following seasons: 2006, 2008, 2013, 2015 & 2017

Get out of town! Belichick made Parcells?? Now that's laughable.

Every franchise Parcells took over was a piece of **** when he got there and he turned all of them around.

Parcells won a Super Bowl with Jeff Hostetler and somehow managed to get to another one with Drew Bledsoe.

Parcells had mostly trash at quarterback throughout his head coaching career and he still won multiple divisions, postseason games, and Super Bowls.

Belichick had Brady crash down on Foxboro like a shooting star from the heavens above. And he's only ever won with Brady at quarterback.

Also, Parcells left Belichick with foundational pieces on defense that carried the Patriots Dynasty 1.0 (McGinest, Law, T. Johnson, Milloy, Bruschi).

Parcells was a tremendous team builder, head coach, motivator, and mentor to his assistant coaches including Belichick.

Who is that?
Belichick without Brady... 0 division titles and 2 postseason appearances in 10 years. I answered because you asked but somehow I think you are just playing dumb.

You're dumping all over Parcells because he couldn't drag everyone single hopeless franchise he took over to a Super Bowl. But at least he turned them around, made them competitive, and moving in the right direction.

I didn't say "BB made Parcells," those are your words.

Parcell's hired BB, BB hired Brady... part of being a great manager is hiring talented people.

You're an avowed BB hater and Brady fanboy... everything you post here is tainted with the stink of it.

Settle down. I don't really know why we're doing this. He won six championships as a head coach. Plenty of other "better" coaches with "elite QBs" haven't come close to that. They've won two at best and honestly, plenty of other teams would be happy to hold that distinction. He deserves more credit than you're giving him.

It's been three years, which included a 10-7 finish and a postseason run with a rookie QB. Basically, this year will make or break your argument post-Brady as at least this time, he's got both the horses in the coaching staff and will likely add horses in free agency as they improve the roster to get them closer to where they were in 2021.

I don't know why you take such glee crapping on a guy who is only three years removed from Brady. If 5 years had passed and there was nothing to show for it, you could make the argument. But the rest of us remember it how it actually happened, and I'm absolutely glad they hired him. You can be competitive year in and year out with an elite QB. You can't go on the run we were just on without a great coach.

Isn't that the argument for why BB isn't good, what happened in Cleveland was literally a documentary by ESPN about Modell pulling the rug out from under the team's feet. Funny how ample and quickly applied your forgiveness is to anyone not named Belichick.

By that **** logic Brady's legacy took a huge hit as well.
How's that? Brady won a Super Bowl in another uniform with another head coach. He's universally considered the GOAT QB and by most also the GOAT player. When has Brady's legacy not been ascending even in the slightest?

I’m not “dumping all over Parcells” I am saying he doesn’t belong in the GOAT argument. I listed his entire post Giant career. I could have listed his entire career, it didn’t measure up either.

Then he got the head coach fired and won 8 games... it's funny how team sports work.
