Your at pick 14 and no wide receivers, tight ends or line backers have been selected - what you gonna do when they come for you?

no prospect matches the value of the pick for WR, TE and LB this time, you'd look to trade down (try to get a 1st and 2x3rds or something like that), else focus on the value = top talent you would not get at 20-30 etc.
You can go there for anyone but in best case you take the best available with the right value of the pick regardless of the position (draft for talent not pure need)

I want an impact player with that 14th pick, and we need a stud receiver so bad it hurts.

TE Darnell Washington.

If Jaxon Smith-Njigba proves he is 100% - which he should be by now - then I'd be awfully tempted to take him.

I am very leery of JSN and the reason is when he looked Good he was playing between C Olave and G Wilson two 1000yds Rookie WR's. Who really didn't have a good Pro QB's so that shows you how Great they are. I think JSN wasn't running all the routes he was basically running to soft spots because Teams were occupied with better Olave and Wilson. I think JSN will be a risky First Round pick I prefer others.

Fair points but riddle me this:

In 2021, JSN had 1,606 yards. Olave had 936 and Wilson had 1,038 (all college career highs). Sure seems to me JSN was the #1 guy and it was those other 2 who benefitted from him when they played together.

Nice I think he's more Slot though I want a guy who excels at both inside and outside. A First Rounder on a Slot Receiver no way.

Cornerback.

BPA and position of need coincide there.

Otherwise, BPA will be a DE-DL and we have starters there already.

CB seems to be the position with lots of stellar players who will be available.

Tackle too but I remain convinced we can find good tackles in the 2nd and 3rd rounds as well. CBs, not so much.
