A couple of general thoughts about the game
1. I was rooting hard for KC (I always root for the AFC team, though I have to admit I was a Bucs fan for the 2020 SB), I hate Philly fans. They constantly mistake passion for douchebaggery. BUT that being said, if a flag was called for every MINOR tug of the shirt for holding, then no one would watch the games except for the refs' families. What made it worse was the ball was thrown 5 yards over SS's head. Which leads to point #2. This was a very exciting 2nd half and the fans deserved a better finish. One where the players decided who would win.
2. This off season there needs to be some adjustments to the rules.
a. Pushing a runner from behind NEEDS desperately to be eliminated. I don't remember when it became legal again, but not only does it make stopping short yardage plays extremely difficult and unfair, it's also dangerous for defenders and runners. The NFLPA is supposed to care about players health, then they should lead the charge.
b. Second, there should be made a point of emphasis where flags are picked up on badly thrown balls. The offense has so many damned advantages that have been built into the game, why do we CONTINUALLY have to give them more. Again there was once an uncatchable ball rule, and then over the years they suddenly didn't call it anymore. Way too often, overthrows and under thrown balls are rewarded with flags.
3. That being said, the Chiefs got a good call, but so did the Eagles. KC could have easily have had another defensive TD that game.
4. As for the ridiculous comments that Mahomes is the new GOAT, don't take the bait. The guy had 180 passing yds, just over half what the guy who lost the game had. He was SUPER clutch on that last drive and pretty much the entire 2nd half, plus he clearly was playing with pain. It was an admirable effort, not doubt, But Mahomes wasn't even the best QB in the game, let alone the best of all time.
10 years from now, we might want to revisit this topic, but it is SO hard to even get to a superbowl, I don't think Brady's 7 will ever be approached.
